Since my RX 640 is Polaris 12 I may be able to to flash it with a PRO vbios and use EDID to pass the blank ports on the WX9100 through the 640
Don't even need to go straight to re-flashing. Try manually installing (in Device Manager) your RX 640 as a WX 3200.

How do I go about that?
Open Device Manager
Expand 'Display Adapters'
Right-Click on the RX 640, Left-Click 'Update driver'
Select "Browse my computer for drivers"
Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
Uncheck "Show compatible hardware"
Under "Manufacturer" find AMD/"Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.", select it.
Under "Model" find "Radeon Pro WX 3200 Series", select it.
Left-Click "Next".

The driver should install and the card will now show as a Pro WX 3200 Series in Device Manager.
Or, you've got a blank screen / low-res Microsoft Basic Display Device

If successful, don't forget to reboot.

Addendum: The WX 3200 and the RX 640 OEM in TPU's database do have a slightly different display-out config. If you get a blank screen on the 640-as-wx3200, try another video-out on the card before trying to recover in Safe Mode.

It does work however even after reinstalling Radeon software the software seems to start and then immediately crash
Edit: got it working with the newest pro version of the software I'll try getting EDID working

For whatever reason even though AMD reports it as a WX3200 the EDID settings don't show it

Hey just gonna update this. Ive put my RX6600 back in for a while. As of rn there's no way to make a VR headset (besides the quest) actually work on the MI25. EDID emulation doesn't work even if you load the drivers for the 3200 and after reaching out to AMD it doesn't seem like they know of an official way to use a pro and non pro card for it. Unless there is an unofficial method for that it seems that the MI25 will be a no go for anything with a VR headset :(

There's another seller that popped up on ebay with a whole bunch of these MI25s. My first offer was $60 and he took it. Dang I should have offered $50 :D

After seeing what @LabRat 891 has been doing I figured I might as well. I still have my pp tables from my Vega 56 and 64. I've got a spare universal water block and a Ryzen 5600G to pair this with since no video output. After I play around with HWBOT, I'm going to tune it for efficiency and let it fold.

If anyone is curious, this is the link to the seller. But probably best to let me be a guinea pig and verify that these aren't mined to death :D

Actually... that's the listing I bought mine from.
They ship parts very professionally, and they're even polite in declining offers.

Don't forget that you can (entirely through software) flash these MI25s to WX9100s (to get full use of its one mDP port).
Note: The MI25s have a very aggressive PPT and a max voltage of 1250mv set. You'll be wanting to blast as much air through it as you can as you test and tweak it. There is no understating how much air this thing needs.

There is a very technically-capable user on the level1 forums and youtube that will say that using a clip-on flashing tool over RS232 or USB is the best way. He might be right, but it's not the only way.
I forget the details, but it was not hard to flash mine using software and vBIOSs entirely off TechPowerUp.

I guess my main concern is drivers. Are there Windows usable drivers for vanilla MI25?

I don't mind flashing if needed to get it working, and I'm aware of the cooling needs. I am considering using a spare universal water block, component heat sinks and fans blasting both sides of the pcb.

Oh and how does HWBOT handle wrong ID in GPU-Z if it's flashed?

There are no windows drivers for the MI25, only Linux ones. Once it's flashed to a WX 9100 it's completely indistinguishable from a real WX 9100 on the software side.

For HWbot, submit it as an MI25 but have a picture showing the card. That's what I did at least.

Be very careful with that uni block btw, it's not hard to kill these cards. I killed mine recently because I slightly overtightened it and probably broke the interposer.

It shows up as an MI25 but as the other guy said it might not work. If you need help with flashing lmk, I think I went through just about every error possible with this card.

It just arrived. If you can give me the link of the exact firmware and flash tool that would be much appreciated :D

This card looks brand new. Maybe it was installed but it doesn't show any signs of usage. Perhaps it was headed to a mining farm that never came to fruition :D

The vbios is that of a wx9100 out of tpu's vbios database. The flash tool that seems to work is either windows vbflash 2.7 (I believe thats the one that introduced Vega support) or 2.9. Both of which need to be ran in an admin cmd console (cd whatever the folder is that it's in and then run amdvbflash). (Also they might give you an error about windows 8 but if you're in an admin console you should be able to ignore it) When you go to flash it make sure to put -f at the end of the command. If it gives an error I BELIEVE I had to turn secure boot and 4G decoding off. It wouldn't even fully recognize the card without me doing that. Ofc I'm explaining like you've played around with amdvbflash before so if you need more explaining on anything lmk

Thanks dude. Right now I'm making some cuts into the stock cooler plates for my water block. I'll take some pics soon

Edit So far so good. I had to cut a notch out of the base plate and cut slightly the water block retention. I also need to cut out a notch if I want to put the cover back on, which I think it will look great like that.

That's a $15 ebay block and it has exact coverage of the Vega die :D

Btw that heat pipe was just laying on there so I put a little MX-4 on it to make it adhere a bit better to the base plate.

I just filled the loop and going to let the pump run over night to leak test and collect air bubbles. The only spare board I had was a cheap micro-ATX AM4 :D

MI25 smile for the camera:

The look of these cards water-cooled always reminds me of the 290x

Make sure you get some airflow over the vrms they can get pretty toasty under the shroud and I recommend not using the back plate if it's not already off, it just helps trap heat on the back.

This is how I had mine before it broke. My new one should be here in a couple days, going to use it on air only with a blower unless temps/noise are bad.

Is there a software readable sensor for VRM like on the regular Vega 64?

As a WX 9100 it has all the sensors regular Vega has.

Using 2.93 atiflash

I keep getting BIOS authentication signature mismatched ERROR: 0FL01

Is there another way to jam this firmware on there?

edit: thanks @DR4G00N apparently you had the special sauce firmware file :)

It's now recognized at WX9100. Going to install the drivers and mess around with it.

I had almost lost hope of running it in Windows. I was going to try and figure out Linux, which makes my head explode...

Hey what's you guys' ASIC quality? HWINFO64 says mine is 93.9%. I wonder if that means it will undervolt well.

Hey what's you guys' ASIC quality? HWINFO64 says mine is 93.9%. I wonder if that means it will undervolt well.
Vega doesn't support ASIC reading IIRC. Mine in HWinfo also shows 93.9%, so either it's a weird coincidence or it's just throwing a number up.

Undervolting doesn't work normally on these, since it's seen as a WX 9100 the driver seems to ignore changes to voltage in pptables and the normal software doesn't work either.
I can undervolt slightly with Sapphire Trixx but it does some weird things if you go even slightly too far (may be changing voltages other than VGPU).

I messed around with the Trixx offset yesterday. -125mV would crash Unigine. -100mV seemed fine but I backed it off to -85mV and let it fold overnight. With that offset and -50% power limit it was staying in the 1100MHz range and only drawing 100w while putting out about 900K ppd which seems good enough.

Maybe there was something wrong with my previous card then, because if I went beyond -50mV it would show garbled lines on screen after a few mins that went away once restarted but it never made heaven crash. Haven't tried with this new one yet.

Careful that mini-display port is extremely fragile. I thought I had artifacting but is was actually the dp cable needed a little support
