Microsoft to release special edition Xbox 360
Microsoft is preparing to launch a special edition Xbox 360 for the World Cup. The unit will come with the usual premium package but will also feature a special blue faceplate, two blue Adidas World Cup bandanas, the game "FIFA World cup Germany", and the small remote control, which was bundled with the first few premium packages until January this year. The unit will only be sold in Japan, and Microsoft expects to sell aroud 10,000 of these at roughly $430 US Dollars a piece. I am a bit surprised, as the World Cup is hosted in Germany, why not sell it there instead of Japan the land of Sony, the Playstation 2 and the PSP. But on the other hand, there should be enough World Cup fans to grab one of these.
