The passive card is vageuly interesting, at least then you're making a rational and conscious tradeoff with the so-so performance of the GT 430. I've been hnkering for a passive card for older gaming that doesn't have a serious price premium, so far all passive cards do have a premium though :( and Zotac is pretty bad with jacking the price on their passive cards.
It's a shame NV didn't put a GDDR5 controller and one more ROP partition in this chip though...with more bandwidth and 8 pixels/clock it could compete with the Radeon 55xx and 56xx pretty well I think. Even the GT 240 had GDDR5 variants!
or go with atis low profile some of them are fanless....
bad thing here is that none of the passives are low profile
