Eurocom Launches AMD Radeon HD 6990M GPU in Line of High Performance Notebooks

Eurocom Corporation, a developer of long lifespan, fully upgradable notebooks is adding AMD's newest AMD Radeon HD 6990M GPU to their extensive options list of high performance notebook computers. Eurocom will offer both HD 6970M and HD 6990M in its products. The addition of the AMD Radeon HD 6990M offers users a new level of high performance GPU computing in single and CrossFireX (dual) configurations. Eurocom will also offer the AMD Radeon HD 6990M GPUs separately to existing customers as an upgrade option.

The addition of the AMD Radeon HD 6990M, the highest performing mobile solution from AMD, gives Eurocom customers a more complete choice of video processor options to configure into their new Eurocom system or upgrade into their existing system. The addition of the AMD Radeon 6990M GPUs in single and CrossFireX offers users another choice of video processor options to fit any preference or performance level.

Someone tell me what the slot interface is called for a mobile FF video card. Is it some variation of PCIe? How many lanes are available on the card?

The thing is AMD didn't start doing this until recently, I think. Used to be, a 3870 was the same as a 3870M and whatnot. :shadedshu

I don't understand using 6990M for a GPU at HD 6870 level. Why not 6870M?

Oh, because they probably have a 6870M that is equivalent to some other HD card of course.

When I first saw the name 6990, I assumed they somehow created a dual GPU mobile equvialent of the HD 6990. Silly me. :confused:
