Noctua Announces Free Upgrade for LGA2011
Noctua today announced its new NM-I2011 mounting kit for LGA2011. Continuing Noctua's tradition of supplying its customers with SecuFirm2 mountings free of charge, the NM-I2011 kit allows Noctua users to upgrade to Intel's upcoming LGA2011 socket for Core i7-3000 (Sandy Bridge-E) processors. The new mounting is backwards compatible with all Noctua retail coolers since 2005 and will be supplied to Noctua users free of charge after uploading a proof of purchase on the company's website.
"We feel that product quality and service quality should always go hand in hand, so we're determined to give the best possible support to our customers. Having provided free mounting upgrades for the last generations of Intel and AMD platforms, we're happy to announce that we will continue this tradition with the NM-I2011 kit for LGA2011", says Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "We always like to think of our coolers as safe long-term investments, and even if you bought one of our first models six years ago, you'll still be able to upgrade it to the latest socket technology free of charge."The NM-I2011 set is backwards compatible with all Noctua retail coolers since 2005 and has been designed to combine outstanding reliability, optimal contact pressure and easy, straightforward installation. Bringing the trusted SecuFirm2 quality to Intel's new LGA2011 platform, NM-I2011 is an enthusiast-grade mounting that meets the highest demands in safety, performance and ease-of-use.
The new NM-I2011 kit can be ordered free of charge via Noctua's website. I don't own anything from them...But I will in the future because of this...
H60-50 and below.
Secondly, there quality.
Thirdly, That 90 dollar cooler will last 6+ years.
Its the most they can do, and more. Nobody Follow's the trend that noctua has put up, so show some respect.
I'll choose ugly + excellent quality and performance over crap quality or performance + not ugly any day :D
this is good news, if I do find a way to upgrade to a i7 3820 + G1 Sniper 2, I could reuse my NH-U12P :toast: if you ever get one its the material and craftsmanship quality and great performance that will keep you as a noctua customer :)
a Noctua fan itself cost you 15-20 bucks
I bought U12P SE2 years ago this is great news, I dont have to buy new HSF if I upgrade to LGA2011, Thanks Noctua :rockout:
Well done.
My upgrade kit has arrived!
 loser.
Had to post pics..the package is very impressive. Even the little note inside is hand-signed. There must be at least several hundred of these packages going out to other users, and for the CEO of a company to hand-sign a note inside every one is stunning.
Noctua deserves some recognition for offering this to nearly ever user that owns one of their products. It's not like they stuffed the parts into a platic baggie, and tossed it in the mail...they put serious thought and design into the packaging and presentation that I've never seen before for situations like this. I've paid for "upgrade" brackets that came in a far less impressive package.
And hence the pics...as always, until you see what Noctua does for their customers first-hand, it might be hard to recognize just how bloody fantastic they are as a company. I cannot hype them up enough.
