Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 To Be Revealed on May 2

This year's addition to the Call of Duty franchise is going to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, a sequel to the 2010 game developed by Treyarch. A source among retailers leaked a poster to Kotaku, which flashes a date, 05-02-12, along with a caption that reads "Return for Debriefing". Kotaku predicts that the date on the poster is more likely a reveal date than a release date. On a reveal date, Activision could post a reveal trailer of the game, along with sketchy information about the premise of the game's single-player campaign.

That aside, yeah.... I wonder if they will have anything remotely interesting... like a modern graphics engine, or an actual plot, or maybe physics for once? XD

Though hey, in good news maybe they'll have more zombies. lol

COD MW and COD BO should be just an expansion pack for COD MW1. This model would be more successful than what they do now. Take WOW for example

Call of Duty makes billions per year using the model they have now. It's impossible for an expansion to do the same, unless that expansion was $59.99. Oh, hey, wait. They are $59.99 expansions!

I would defiantly not call COD Black Ops an "expansion pack" of COD4 , it's a whole different freaking game.
I am a COD player besides being a BF3 player (Yes, you can play both!) and the only thing i can tell
by 3arc's games is that unlike IW they always try to bring something new to the table.

what im saying is you can install them ontop of the previous game and they just add on the maps and weapons without ever changing the menu.

and Btw BO can be implemented into MW easily

I'm aware. All I was saying is that Kotick won't allow his profit margin to drop in favor of what the juggernaut that is CoD right now. Once sales start flagging they'll likely stop making the games altogether.

More successful? it's one of the best selling games (as shite as each rehash has become) ever, how could it be more successful? the sheeple continue to buy each expansion pack at full price so I would say that's pretty successful :ohwell:

W@W is my favorite CoD game. Nothin' says lovin' like an OP MP40 spraying hallways and hearing people cry over the headset.

this.

when the main competition has planes, tanks, jeeps and 64 man dedicated servers on huge maps. there doesnt seem to be much place for COD imho anymore

and this is not me being a fanboy, this is coming from a long term COD player.

after Black ops and MW3 i will not be purchasing another Call of Duty title. even though i am certain that others will continue to consume the recycled garbage.

the only thing that will change my mind is a next gen engine. and total overhaul

I don't know about you guys, but I think that the treyarch games are far better than the IW games (excluding CoD4, that was pure excellence). For me the graphics are slightly nicer (don't know what it is that makes it look nicer, maybe different shaders or lighting). Also the weapon characteristics and voices (at least imo) are better. And especially the gore in W@W was excellent.

Will I buy this? Only if when it is on sale for under $40AUD. (Usually release prices are ~$100AUD).

I will pirate it for the SP campaign then uninstall when im done, I have no interest in putting more money into Activisions pockets.

SP for MW3 was pretty shit anyway. the first BLops i got bored after the deathmachine stage i just uninstalled. (pirated that game too i did) gone are the days where SP campaigns are actually worth anything. That leaves the online MP component to fend for itself and since the game is a rehash of a rehash of a rehash it falls well short of the mark not just by yards, but by miles.

Im also a big fan of dedicated servers, so go figure.

They're all the same game. MW2 has a map that is exactly the same as a WaW map, it was just re-textured with some extra shrubbery. I mean seriously, they're milking the same game. Give me a CoD with a new engine that has been completely reworked with new maps and I might care again.
