Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 To Be Revealed on May 2

This year's addition to the Call of Duty franchise is going to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, a sequel to the 2010 game developed by Treyarch. A source among retailers leaked a poster to Kotaku, which flashes a date, 05-02-12, along with a caption that reads "Return for Debriefing". Kotaku predicts that the date on the poster is more likely a reveal date than a release date. On a reveal date, Activision could post a reveal trailer of the game, along with sketchy information about the premise of the game's single-player campaign.

For all the haters out there, why is nobody hating that much Microsoft for having almost the same interface of its OS since '95, or Porsche for having almost the same car for decades??? Or Coca Cola, for having the same taste since....forever, or pens and pencils for having the same shape, or whatever...Simple. If they will want to create a different type of game, they will probably give it a different name. So...All of your hate is useless and pointless...

Prima.Verawhy is nobody hating that much Microsoft for having almost the same interface of its OS since '95
Interface might look the same, but the rest is or can be very different. just the same way as Windows 95 vs windows 8 - they are 2 very different operating systems. where as Windows 95 & Windows 98 were similar. the same way as Windows 7 is to windows Vista etc etc
Prima.Veraor Porsche for having almost the same car for decades???
The car looks the same as the original but the changes are underneath the hood. over time they have changed and tuned the engine for more performance etc etc. even though they may look like the same, they still can be very different cars underneath the chassis
Prima.VeraOr Coca Cola, for having the same taste since....forever
Because coca cola is their trademark. it wouldnt be coca cola if it suddenly turned into orange juice or some sort of honey dew made out of nectar. THAT BEING SAID. the recipe has been revised over the years. and the taste of cola varies depending where it was originaly made. here in the UK there are shops that sell cola from germany, spain, Ukraine and some other arabic countries - they all taste different but its still cola.
Prima.VeraFor pens and pencils for having the same shape
well how the hell are you supposed to write with a square or hexagonal pen or pencil?? thats just retarded :slap::slap:
Prima.VeraSimple. If they will want to create a different type of game, they will probably give it a different name.
Nope. they will keep milking the CoD franchise, because its their bread winner. and sells billions. otherwise CoD would have died off after CoD4:MW1
Prima.VeraSo...All of your hate is useless and pointless...
regardless of what you think. the hate is still justified. maybe its beyond your understanding, but there are millions out there who understand it, see it for what it is, and hate it.

Because video games are a creative expression. If they are not expressing anything new then they are not being creative. Hence boring.

They even reuse the textures man. Come on!

Millions?? LOL. There are only a dozen, and mostly here on this forum...Or you mean the millions that buy the game in the first day...Right...:shadedshu:shadedshu

I think here is kinda cool to hate stuff, like games, products, companies, monitor resolutions, etc.... There is almost no article here without people starting to hate something from the 2nd post even... :ohwell:

We give you dozens of reasons to dislike it. However you give us no reason to like it. Its IDENTICAL to CoD4. Hell they are STILL USING THE QUAKE 3 ENGINE FROM 1999!

As a matter a fact they have REMOVED features over the years. Not added. Remember base assault? Jeeps? Tanks?

Yeah most won't because those features were only on the PC.

Im sorry but how dense can you get to think that TPU is the only forum with more then a handful of members that hate/dislike CoD??

Google 'I hate CoD' there are FB groups, and bloggers that blog about it. Keith Stuart a guy who writes articles for The Guardian newspaper and works on gaming magazines like Edge Magazine, Official PlayStation Magazine and Pocket Gamer blogged - this guy writes/blogs and edits for gaming magazines and newspapers! what do you do apart from trolling?

and his article/blog explains why people hate it.

If you think that CoD haters are just a minority that only frequent Techpowerup then you are grossly mistaken.

get your head out of your arse. CoD bashing exists on every forum and not just on TPU.

The millions who buy it on day one are most likely parents who buy the game for their children to play on their kiddiebox. Parents who know very little about games, and are trying to be nice to their kiddos. COD is the big name thing, so it's the obvious "hit" thing that their kids "must have" because all the other kids are going to have it, too. Basically at this point I feel COD sells because it has a big name. Nothing else.

Saddly this is true, even if they have a MA-15(AUS) rating it ends up "oh my kid talks about this so much i'll just buy it to make him shut up." or "Oh another game thats selling tons maybe my son would like this.".

Problem: Uninformed adults and generic little kids

Fix: Age lock games and tighten the age confirming on consoles(no little kid has a pc to play cod)
