Microsoft Readies Xbox 360 Limited Edition "Halo 4" Console Bundle

At Comic Con, Microsoft unveiled its newest Xbox 360 Limited Edition bundle, themed after Halo 4. Its makers refer to it as "the definitive console bundle of 2012," and hope to make it available in limited quantities, in Autumn. The bundle includes an Xbox 360 console with 320 GB HDD, a pair of Xbox 360 wireless controllers, a wired headset, and a copy of Halo 4. The console and controllers are decked in Halo 4 skins (translucent bodies with a blue tinge and graphics). Apart from the four items, buyers of the new bundle receive Xbox LIVE tokens for exclusive Halo 4 in-game and avatar marketplace DLC. The bundle will be priced at US $399.99 (ERP), the controllers will be made available separately, too, at US $59.99 a pop.

Now why couldn't my Halo 3 edition 360 look like that...sigh. Oh well, at this point in time...yeah, not worth it.

Enough with these wireless controllers bullshit. We need a wired version with transforming d-pad and preferably a nice-looking transparent body.

M$ is too obsessed with making wireless controllers so that they can sell play & charge kit and wireless receiver for PC, disregarding the fact that wired controller is superior in terms of vibration force and weight, not to mention the loose battery cover problem.

I for one can not wait for this game, and if I didnt already have a 360 id pick this up. I am not sure why so much hate on the actual console. I mean Evga has a dozen versions of X video card and no one complains about milking lol.

I think they're complaining because nearly every major release, especially FPS titles gets its own console(Halo 3, Reach, Halo 4, CoD MW2, MW3, Gears 3, Kinect Star Wars, RE5... the list goes on), and the new Xbox is rumored to be right around the corner(late 2013, early 2014) so MS releasing another version of the 360 could be seen as milking the market.
Regardless, my 360 is dying and I already had Legendary edition on pre-order, so I just switched the pre-order to the console. The Reach console was awesome(one of my friends bought it), this one looks even nicer and the 320GB HDD doesn't hurt either.

They are not really milking Halo lol. Halo has a huge story, probably one of the most in depth stories in a video game. The covenant is one thing, but theres a whole other part to it all and thats the forerunners and that is what the new Halo trilogy story line is going to be about. I have ready all the Halo books and there is so much more to the Halo Universe, and im glad they are making more games. I won't play the new trilogy for the multiplayer. I want to play it for the story.

That's the point I've been making to CoD fanboys for years. Like you, I read the books so to a degree we know what's coming. At the same time, 343 has promised that this new trilogy will also add some new lore.
I really can't wait to step back into the Chief's boots, and for the first time since Halo: CE, I'll have the limited edition Xbox to go with the game :D

For me it's both, but with each game I've made sure to clear out the story on at least Heroic before jumping into multiplayer.
I'm no fanboy, I love other games as well, but the Halo series, especially CE, will always hold a special place in my gaming heart.

Looks pretty sweet, I just wish they didn't change from the gloss finish to the matte finish with the normal model, looks cheap lol.

I was talking about M$ milking the 360 to the last drop. Every new game I see now has a special skin and controller to it. Halo though, im not a fan or any, but hopefully it should be as good as Bungie's Halo series.

Every 360 console to date has had a fan. The original "fat" 360s had two 80mm(at least I think they were 80mm) fans in the back for exhaust, the new "slim" consoles have a single 120mm fan blowing directly on the CPU/GPU heatsink assembly with passive exhaust.

Whilst it does look very nice, anyone looking to buy a new 360 (when they already have one) just because it's got some fancy artwork on it are a bit daft. The new generation will be out in a couple of years.

Talking about milking Halo for all it is worth. Just when you thought CoD was getting bad.

Agreed. The only reason I opted for the console over the Legendary edition is that my current 360 is on its way out, in a bad way too :ohwell: I guess that's what happens when you put enough hours into playing that it could be a part-time job:roll:
