New Acer T2 Series Displays Designed to Maximize Touch Benefits of Windows 8
Acer America today is bringing its Acer T2 Series touch displays to customers in the U.S. and Canada. Featuring a premium blend of aesthetics and performance, these slender and elegant monitors include the Acer T232HL with a 23-inch screen and the Acer T272HL with a 27-inch screen. Both displays are Windows 8 compliant, enabling consumers to take advantage of the features in Windows 8 with a 10-point multi-touch screen, whether using a new PC or an old PC upgraded to the new operating system.
The new displays tout edge-to-edge glass in an elegant design that will enhance any room in the home. Supported by an asymmetrical stand, the monitors have an aesthetically-pleasing look. The stand enables users to view images tilted back up to 80 degrees, which is practically flush with the desk for enhancing comfort and ergonomics to make the most of the capacitive-touch capabilities. This tilt feature is especially beneficial for touch-friendly activities like playing games, viewing photo albums and cookbooks as well as Web surfing. The monitors also come with VESA mounts for hanging them on a wall."The Acer T232HL and Acer T272HL displays were designed with the goal of maximizing the significant touch benefits of Windows 8," said Chris White, senior director of product marketing, Acer America. "Delivering premium technology in a sleek, modern and flexible design, these new displays provide users with a dynamic visual medium that users can enjoy for years to come."
Leveraging an in-plane switching (IPS) panel, the Acer T232HL delivers uniform color temperature at nearly every point for consistent images even when the screen is viewed 60 degrees from the center -- up to 178 degrees horizontally and vertically -- making it excellent for collaboration and multi-monitor set-ups. The Acer T272HL display has a vertical alignment (VA) panel, which also offers excellent viewing angles.
Both the Acer T232HL and the Acer T272HL offer a high 1920 x 1080 resolution, making them ideal for advanced 1080p Full HD widescreen multimedia and productivity applications. These touchscreen displays provide flawless moving images thanks to a rapid 5ms response time. With an impressive 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio, these models combine bright whites and rich blacks with superior gradation and detail, especially in dim or bright scenes. Outfitted with the Acer eColor Management tool, users can optimize image performance under different viewing scenarios at the touch of a button.
The touch technology is easy to use. Users just need to tap on the screen to open documents and websites. They can scroll through web pages, documents, play lists and photo albums and use their two fingers to rotate, expand or reduce them to the size desired. They can also write notes directly on the screen of the display.
Both displays include two built-speakers and exceptional connectivity with three USB 3.0 ports with charging ability as well as VGA, DVI and HDMI ports for outstanding high-definition viewing. They also have a high color depth of 16.7 million, while the Acer T232HL has a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and the Acer T272HL a brightness of 300 cd/m2, ideal settings for comfortably viewing content from a short distance.
