Apacer Introduces 22PIN SATA 6 Gb/s High-Speed Modular SSD

The pursuit of speed for IT products is always endless. Therefore, Apacer devotes to breakthroughs and innovation in technology and is fully prepared to provide the high-speed storage products to customers before the R & D of the next-generation product. Apacer launches the new generation of SDM5 (SATA Disk Module), which adopts the SATA 3 (6 Gb/s) high-speed transmission interface, Toggle DDR 2.0 NAND Flash, as well as the specifically designed 2-Channel bidirectional structure. The sequential read/write speed reaches 315/145 MB/Sec and provide an excellent performance of high speed read, all of which enable the SDM5 to be one of the fastest storage solutions in the next generation IT products.

Apacer SDM5 connector adopts standard 7-pin Signal and 15-pin Power male SATA connector. To provide greater flexibility, Apacer rolls out two new designs - perpendicular (at 90°) and parallel (at 180°) - for 22-pin SATA connectors.
Jeff Lin, Embedded Application Product Division Senior Director of Apacer indicated, "In order to satisfy the user-specific needs for various mechanisms, we will introduce perpendicularly and parallel modularized solutions at the same time. Thus, the customer will have diverse choices in accordance with the motherboard design demands, without being limited to the joint direction of solid state drive, and develop more diversified top products at the lowest cost."

The SDM5 uses MLC chip, featuring excellent cost-effectiveness and the capacity of up to 128 GB. Regarding the reliability, SDM5 complies with MIL-STD-810F, the toughest certification standard in the American military regulation. It can resist the system vibration, shock impact and requirement for high and low temperature. The product will also undergo ORT (on-going reliability testing) upon mass production to ensure the reliability and service life of the products. In terms of software, SDM5 is equipped with 40-bit ECC (Error Correcting Code), S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology), ATA Secure Erase command to help boost the product reliability and stability. With the support of Windows 7 TRIM command to keep the SSD in optimum status, the SDM5 is the prime choice among stable storage solutions.

Apacer is one of the few Taiwan-based manufacturers capable of developing software, hardware and firmware and can launch pioneering products ahead of its industrial peers. It also boasts robust manufacturing quality, excellent customizability and real-time technical supports. Besides, firmware and major components can be fixed right after customer's recognition and validation. This reduces the risk of out-of-stock and compatibility issues by providing customers with stable supply and high reliability. For that reason, the quality and efficiency of Apacer's products has been recognized by topnotch tech giants in the U.S. and Japan and become one of the world's top 10 PC SSD suppliers. Samples of Apacer's next-generation SATA Disk Module5 industrial SSD series are now available to all customers for evaluations and testing.
