EVGA Officially Announces GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition
EVGA has today ended its teasing campaign and finally introduced what it calls 'greatest overclocking graphics card on the planet', the GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition. Designed in collaboration with overclocking gurus Vince "K|NGP|N" Lucido and Tsemenko "TiN" Illya, this card features a 14+3 phase power design, dual 8-pin and 6-pin power connectors (to deliver up to 450 W to the GPU), enhanced PLL circuitry, a preinstalled dedicated PWM baseplate, and an ACX cooling solution packing two 10 cm fans.
"In order to break world records these days you need some serious hardware," said Vince "K|NGP|N" Lucido. "This card was engineered to serve one purpose… be the world's best overclocking graphics card. Expect GPU clockspeeds at over 1.85 GHz with extreme cooling.""With the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition graphics card, we focused on the basic demands that are needed when doing extreme overclocking," said Illya "TiN" Tsemenko. "Capable hardware design and heavy power delivery capacity is key for performance dominance and the ultimate gaming experience. So too is a unique power convertor able to provide over 450W of clean voltage for every kind of overclocking!"
EVGA's OC-craving offering also has 2880 CUDA Cores, a 384-bit memory interface, 3 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, dual DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, and is bundled with a backplate. Unfortunately EVGA doesn't mention the card's GPU or memory clocks and still no word on how much it will cost or when it will be available for purchase.

About Maxwell I will think at the end of generation when best model show up.
Compared with other cards look nice... But taste is difference... Some people love card design on east, for me that is different culture and I recognize their design immediately and what is nice for them, for me is trash... But not trash like trash, simple hardware without taste...
Under hood is everything important...If you buy mercedes class (GTX780Ti) than better drive full custom than some reference and best what fabric can offer you.
This is real successor of GTX580 Classified, last Fermi>last Kepler(GTX780Ti Classified) and really should stay and wait such models and look on last Maxwell, when Tesla unlocked became available for gaming.
They say that plastic is same material as Titan and other cards...
Better nice plastic than some cheap sharp can. Only I would made without carbon details. But people today like that, I mean I would make black only that part, but more people like carbon.
And besides, I will not be able to close my case because this card is just too tall.
Design fail!
This is not a graphics card you put into a case, period.
This thing is made to be torn apart from its stock cooler and to the very least equipped with a waterblock and even that is not enough.
LN2 Pot please.
Better than NVIDIA.
I don't want to pay NVIDIA junk VRM and chips send to manufacturer together with PCB. Card cost 700-1000$, PCB 30$.
What I have then from some company, sticker and cooler. Rather pay 80-100$ more for custom board and insane clocks out of box.
And this card maybe will not be even 100$ more than NVIDIA reference GTX780Ti.
Find cards who can give you 1200MHz in games on stock voltage, you need to buy 10 to find one, and on 1300MHz, maybe but on 1300V in benchmarks.
In games that's 5% of all.
Maybe this card is made for LN2 but I see her as around 1190-1200MHz Boost without Precision Installed on 60-65C. And cooler is improved. GK110 2880 CUDA on 1200MHz or 1300MHz after overclocking no matter and 1900-2000MHz memory is crazy cards and give you guaranteed 5fps more in games as Crysis 3 on 1920x1080 resolution over other overclocked models.
Yes we have GIGABYTE with same 1085MHz and card proven no mm space for overclocking from different sources... That mean every 10th will not be stable even on fabric clocks.
This is only small part how card will look inside case from side panel...
And under one little EVGA GTX580 stock Fermi just for games with PhysX.
2304 CUDA - 2880 CUDA
993 MHz - 1075 MHz
1137 MHz - about 1200MHz
1502 MHz - 1750MHz
Difference is obvious in every segment and real difference can experience someone who upgrade example from reference GTX780 on GTX780Ti KP Classified.
2304 - 2880
863 - 1075
1502 - 1750
Some reviews present difference with 10fps in BIOSHOCK Infinity and 7-8 fps in Crysis 3 on 2560x1440 only between GTX780 and GTX780 OC.
Imagine than fps difference between GTX780 out of box and GTX780Ti Classified KP Edition out of box.
That's clear 25%, looking only CUDA and faster memory for 150MHz almost as another generation of cards.
I know people talk about Maxwell but I will not pay NVIDIA's handicapped invalids locked because performance dosing no matter on new generation or not new.
Only best from one generation as 580 and GTX780Ti because barely 5 good games show in mean time.
Special Classified models... Ugly card is DC2, Windforce, Lightning, HOF and similar, ACX cooler force me to change my decision and to accept dual cooler cards.
Before ACX I didn't know non reference card can look nice in PC and in SLI... We are proud on our extremely rear unique hard core graphic cards...
Even box from our cards are nicer than other graphics...
Enjoy... Next time all guys who wish them and now don't want to confess that should prepare money on time and find one for self...
Spoken like a true die hard evga ACX cooler fanboy, dissing all lol :D
Imo it would be better with metalic black, not this see through plastic.
Reminds me on some animals and fish in deep see, with transparent body, where you see brain an ribs and spine....
But card shape is extremely nice and 5 min of job is paint in any version of matt black, even professionals can do that when paint some cars with paint gun...
You could not say they paint at all.
I would made in black/grey style but I would give strength with aluminium and over aluminium with plastic layer, or plastic and over aluminium... and I would leave some parts visible brushed dark aluminium...
But not full alu or metal because that would be very bad for sound...Similar metal sound have little CORSAIR Airflow 2, but OK you drop speed on half and he is still efficient. For graphic you can't make that.
That's only difference between GTX780Ti Classified and GTX780 KP Classified but this is nicer because this red inside and when you look from picture cards look better this from little distance... Probably some version of dark grey can give excellent look but I can't say now must first to try to see how looks different variatns.
Anyway I'm glad because I bought now this model because I had normal version and that would be little... Now this is completely new satisfaction when something new arrive you, you don't know how look, I meet normal look, I had few months and I looked in that... Now in PC you only see sign K|NGP|N and nice backplate with EVGA Classified and under I don't see nothing... My PC is full of LEDs from hardware and only because of that you see something inside... No other lights... I think I see over 15-16 little LEDs, from graphic card several, from motherboard several, from H100, from Dominator Platinum, from Sound Card...
Edit: I see you have the same sound card as me, I HATE that little red LED, I have a white/blue themed build and it ruins it -_- Might need to paint over the LED with some black nail polish or something, don't want to risk replacing it with a white one, my soldering iron isn't good enough for fine solders like the machines that do PCI cards.
Red light from Sound Blaster Z is really strong.
She boost on excellent 1202MHz without even EVGA Precision X installed. I tried to see when will boost to drop because temps, I set fan on lower speed and card keep boost even on 85C.
Than I immediately turn off application because I want to card work on much lower temps... It's very cool when GK110 with 2880 CUDA work on 1202MHz on 1.162V with +75mV option in Precision and +50mV option with switches on PCB... that's almost +150mV and option to disable boost and card can work as normal GTX580 on some fix clock. I mean 150mV with Normal or LN2 official fabric BIOS without any mod tools or voltage regulation tools... That's fantastic for GK110 and other brand don't have such option out of box with Normal BIOS without modding. Incredible card, I N C R E D I B I B L E C A R D and special when someone meet GK110 before but not like this.
AMD fans don't even can imagine how NVIDIA improve picture quality, 1920x1080 resulution is possible and without driver on desktop, quality of pictures in games are on absolutely same level as on Radeon, sharp, excellent Anti-Aliasing only much smoother game, you play games like through butter, without any hick, stutter, Adaptive VSync immediately fix all fps in some games on 60fps and remove screen tearing with over 60fps, excellent function and simply work as should.
This card on stock frequency kill ASUS Mars 760 Dual overclocked or not...
I'm not sure is it possible even GTX770 SLI reference on fabric clock to beat this model after good OC under watercooling... I mean guys that's GK104, last year that was GTX680, but this is single card. I mean how much can give GTX770 SLI reference on fabric clock without OC... this card in Firestrike 13.-13.500 GPU Score depend of CPU Extreme or not on fabric clock.
But than start Turbo, overclocking.
What's the noise like on that card? I have a 570 and when it gets hot it makes a fair amount of noise, definitely louder then any other components. I was looking at the 700 series cards as a replacement, they seem like the only upgrade worth getting from my 570, but even the 770 doesn't beat the render output of the 570 and I am starting a fair bit of 3D work. I could go to the 780 but with that price tag... not likely until the 800 series is released.
Like GTX580 SLI with 100% scaling. For about 500$.
Noise??? I think GTX780Ti Kingpin Classified had little faster fan and little louder than GTX780 Classified, GTX780 Classified have more silent fan but they should leave option for about 500RPM more even if that increase noise.
I don't know how smart is to wait Maxwell. If you want to buy something for about 500 I'm not sure what can Maxwell offer for that price compare with GK110. Not more than 10% I think in first circle... That would be some mid range Maxwell compare with high end chip as GK110...
My advice is go for GTX780 Classified and increase speed only to boost on 1200MHz and you will have almost GTX780Ti reference performance. Maybe 10% less.
This card is very very strong and worth investment more than other weaker cards and I have time 2-3 months until I upgrade before summer. I spend some money because first I had GTX780 Classified and I didn't know NVIDIA will launch much stronger graphic card... But this card is better for long term and for waiting Project Denver from NVIDIA. I will miss Maxwell until NVIDIA not present Tesla Maxwell and allow that for customers.
I think they call GM110 that chip or similar.
That would be awesome killer of Radeons. Some specification over net say 24 SMX units, 384 Texture...6144 CUDA, 64 ROPS, 512Bit Memory and 8GB Video Memory...
I would choose Classified version.
That monster worth of waiting even 18-24months and avoiding spending money on something weaker. Until than I have same chip as K40 Tesla, fabric overclocked.
It's good because I upgrade on GK110 with 2880 CUDA to avoid eventually to need me more GPU power in mean time.
If no extreme cooling is involved what is the point in getting the Kingpin over the normal Classified?
