Aerocool Releases the CoolTouch-E and CoolTouch-R Fan Controllers

Aerocool Advanced Technologies, one of world's leading manufacturers of excellent gaming PC gear, announces two new single-bay fan controller CoolTouch-E and CoolTouch-R. Both of Aerocool's new fan controller are utilizing a touch-panel. Hence allows users to directly interact with the display to make adjustments and changes more naturally. Up to four case fans can be connected to the back side of the CoolTouch fan controller, while all important information are presented well sorted on the display in the front. To match most on-market PC chassis, CoolTouch-E and CoolTouch-R are available as a black and white edition.

Aerocool brings the trend of touch-screens to the PC for an affordable price. All interactions with the new CoolTouch fan controller are made by simply pressing on the designated area on the touch-screen. To match the individual environment and taste, users can change the background-color of the LCD touch-panel anytime by pressing the "color" button. Both CoolTouch-E and CoolTouch-R offer the choice between the background-colors red, green, yellow, blue, light blue, purple and white.
The CoolTouch-E is equipped with a big 100 x 25 mm display, which covers most of the fan controller's front panel. Each of the four case fan channels can be controlled individually by choosing the preferred channel and then adjusting the fan speed in steps between 0, 50, 75 and 100 percent. Each channel supports fans with a consumption of up to 20 watts. The CoolTouch-E indicates weather a fan is spinning or not and allows users to stop fans by pressing the power button. All common types of fan connectors are supported by the CoolTouch series, including the standard 3-pin and 4-Pin PWM as well as 4-pin Molex connectors.

Aerocool CoolTouch-R combines great usability with additional functions and connectivity in a compact single-bay design! It utilizes a slightly smaller 85 x 25 mm LCD display with touch-support and offers additional functions! Besides the four case fan channels, one temperature sensor has been integrated. Hence allows users to monitor the temperature of the CPU Cooler, HDD, Chipset, VGA card or the temperature inside the chassis. The sensor can be placed anywhere inside the PC chassis using the supplied adhesive stickers. Temperatures can be displayed both in Celsius and Fahrenheit. Great connectivity is assured thanks to the built-in card-reader and the USB 3.0 port, located on the right side of the panel. Most common storage media types such as SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC/RS MMC and miniSD are supported by the card reader.

Both of the CoolTouch fan controller are available as of today. Suggested retail price for the CoolTouch-E model is 24,50 EUR and 32,50 EUR for the CoolTouch-R (excl. Taxes).

A bit vague as to whether it actually controls 4 pin PWM fans via PWM ...

It doesn't. It has physical support for 4-pin plugs, but control is done via voltage.
That black-and-yellow ribbon is the one that powers the fans. Yellow for voltage, black for ground. 4 pairs, 4 fans.

A pity, it looks like the Zalman one is the only one with a proper PWM channel for e.g. Swiftech pump control.

Like the CoolTouch-E, it has a real LCARS Star Trek look to it.

Would that be the ZM-MFC3?

That's the one, I got one last week, handy that it monitors the power too and not stupidly over-priced like many of these controllers. 3 x DC 3-pin and 1 x 4-pin PWM (although you need to use the provided cable for the 4-pin connection whereas the others connect direct.

That pic looks pretty accurate too, some of the pics make it look like the background is black rather than the glowing blue. :)
