Team Group and HKEPC Set New SuperPi 1M Record
The leading global brand of memory module, Team Group Inc. has announced on the 23rd its joint cooperation with HKEPC Laboratory on the Super PI 1M project through the "TeamGrup ProjectX" memory module. By using rapidly LN2 cooling, a new world record of 5.078 seconds, for Super PI 1M has been set and beat the previous record which remained unbroken for 17 months, thus successfully reaching the top of the world.
The Super PI 1M was written by Prof. Yasumasa Kanada of the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1996 (Heisei 7 Years). Additionally, following the launch of Super PI 1.5 XS Mod by the U.S. XtremeSystems, it has become one of the major projects of the Overclocking World Records, making it one of the most widely used system measurement basis among PC users. The Super PI 1M is used to calculate circumference 220 square using Gauss-Legendre (i.e. pi to 1,000,000 places after the decimal number). Overclocking players from around the world compete by reducing the computation time as the goal and the computation time determines the performance of the processor. However, the time pulse and the low- latency time sequence of the memory module are crucial to the speed of computation.Team Group Inc. and HKEPC Laboratory jointly cooperated in the research program coded "ProjectX" memory module. The ultimate goal is to enhance the overclocking and stability features of memory products. With the Xtreem Series DDR3-2000 CL8 2GBx2 memory module as the basis (Elpida DDR3 IC), the module with a high time pulse and low time sequence that can operate under extreme cold was selected, and it was named the "TeamGroup ProjectX-BBSE" memory module.
HKEPC Laboratory adopts the Intel Core i7-3770K processor, coupled with ASROCK Z77 OC Formula motherboard, Team Group's ProjectX memory module, and Antec High Current Pro 1'200W power supply. Under LN2 cooling, the processor's time pulse underwent overclocking to 7.136GHz, while the memory underwent overclocking to DDR3-2719 CL-7-11-7-24 1T to successfully complete the Super PI 1M calculation in 5.078 seconds, thus setting a new record for the Super PI 1M.
" TeamGroup ProjectX "memory module is not commercially available model, the main function is to study and analysis features of memory ICs, modules, coolers, etc and establish the research/development foundation of TeamGroup memory module product line in the future to keep offering best memory products to end users.
As a leading provider of memory storage products to the consumer market, Team Group is committed to providing the best storage, multimedia and data sharing solutions. All Team memory module products come with a lifetime warranty, repair and replacement services.

My rig got me SuperPi 1M under 8 seconds if I recall correctly.
