Netlist Introduces Industry's Highest Performing NVDIMM
Netlist, Inc., a leading provider of high performance memory storage solutions for the cloud computing and storage markets, today announced the introduction of its NVvault DDR3 high performance NVDIMM product family compatible on selected Intel-based Ivy Bridge server boards. This new product family is built upon Netlist's patented IP, expertise and technical know-how in hybrid (DRAM to FLASH) DIMM technology, which includes close to a decade of delivering NVDIMMs to leading storage OEMs.
Netlist's NVvault NVDIMM combines the best attributes of DRAM and NAND Flash with advanced system interface architecture on a DIMM subsystem to provide a 2DPC 1600MT/s performance. With a JEDEC standard DDR3 interface, NVvault NVDIMM is fully compatible with the Supermicro X9DRH-iF-NV server board, which features two Intel E5-2600 processors, Intel ADR (Asynchronous DRAM Refresh) chipset and 16 DIMM sockets. As a result, NVDIMMs and Registered DIMMs can be mixed in the same channel, making the DIMMs truly plug-and-play with MRC from Intel."Our high performance NVvault products offer a robust feature set that places us at the forefront of the converging memory and storage technologies," said C.K. Hong, President and CEO of Netlist. "We are proud to have invented the first hybrid memory module close to a decade ago and we continue to deliver innovations that bridge the gap between memory and storage."
"Supermicro Green Computing solutions provide customers with leading edge, performance enhanced technologies that help them drive and expand business," said Wally Liaw, Sr. Vice President of Sales at Supermicro. "With our growing range of server and storage platforms supporting Netlist NVvault DDR3 NVDIMM technology we are delivering robust, high-availability computing solutions, ready for the most challenging mission critical, data sensitive applications."
NVvault dramatically improves performance in applications such as metadata, indexing, cache, storage, logging, message queuing, on-line transactions, batch processing and RAID applications requiring higher throughput, while providing fault tolerant data integrity. These applications are important to hyperscale computing environments focused on big data analytics, cloud computing, high performance databases and low latency applications such as high frequency trading. NVvault NVDIMMs utilize Netlist's patented NVvault controller and work in conjunction with general purpose JEDEC DDR3 RDIMMs, CPUs and other devices.
Key competitive attributes of the NVvault DDR3 NVDIMM product family include:
Netlist's lineup of DDR3-1600 Registered NVDIMMs range in density from 4 GB to 8 GB. The ordering table is below.Netlist is currently sampling NVvault DDR3 to qualified customers.
