NVIDIA Launches the GeForce GTX TITAN X

NVIDIA formally launched the GeForce GTX TITAN X, its flagship graphics card based on the "Maxwell" architecture, following its GDC 2015 unveiling. Based on the new 28 nm GM200 silicon, the GTX TITAN X packs 3,072 CUDA cores, 192 TMUs, 96 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 12 GB of memory. With 50% more graphics processing muscle over its previous-generation (7.1 TFLOP/s), the card retains its 250W TDP rating, of its predecessor. The GTX TITAN will launch in reference-design, and will be priced at US $999.

Let's get back on topic please.
I have no interest in the Titan; however, I must say that I find this latest version lackluster in many areas.

What I see is that existing owners of R9-290X can be perfectly happy wtih what is now 2 generations old graphic card. It still shows its grin wide against GTX 980 and even Titan X lol.

I think alot of people can be happy with 2 gens old! Hell, I'm perfectly content with my 780....nothing for me to see here based on my resolution and what I play. I think many people have the same criteria as well.

I'll be going for more grunt just because of Natural Selection 2 which is really demanding in big matches. But for the rest, I don't really need more power than I already have with overclocked HD7950. And there is this factor of curiosity. I often tend to buy new hardware just because I want to have something new in my system. It's rarely out of actual need.
