Now, 3D Print Your Own Front-plate for the R9 Fury X

It will be a while before you see custom-design variants of the Radeon R9 Fury X, which is a halo product to AMD, much like the GTX TITAN series for NVIDIA. In the mean time, you can customize its front-plate (the rubbery-textured front cover of the cooler shroud). AMD put out 3D models of the front-plate along with a few simple instructions on how to remove and replace it. With basic 3D printing know-how, and equipment, you can 3D-print your own front-plate design. Find the 3D model files and instructions here.

I like that. I like that a lot. I always feel better about something I own when manifacturer offers different add-ons later down the product cycle. Even if its just bling. And the fact that they support 3D printing, you won me over this one. Good jobs guys.

I like the old school fabrication. I'd probably get an aluminium plate and hand engrave it with something...

Well ive always liked the name Bradley. so if i had a Fury X id add a 'B' at the start of 'Radeon' to call it Bradeon - Its a Radeon but not as Bradley knows it.

So this is how AMD's playing the balls - giving great aftersales services and options. Kudos to you guys at AMD, that's really a nice step.

A neat idea, print a plate that would hold a 80mm fan or something similar, and hook the fan to a fan controller. independent VRM cooling. if OV was a thing on this card, that would be quite nice.

Remember guys, using a custom plate doesnt make this weak card faster.
Even if you 3d printed a 980ti plate and fit it in this card it will still perform like crap compared to the real 980ti.
You've been warned. Make the right purchase, dont fall to a useless marketing gimmick.

nVidia wishes they had HBM on their new cards! imagine how badass a 980 would be with HBM!

When nVidia finally puts HBM on their cards, it will be the 2.0 version.... of course they will be faster..... But, ONCE AGAIN, AMD did it FIRST.... nVidia, as always, too scared to take the leap first....

Just like AMD BEAT THE HELL out of Intel to 1ghz.... You're probably too young to remember that....
