Nintendo sued over possible Wii Remote copyright infringement
California based Interlink Electronics is suing Nintendo for some parts of the Wii Remote that Interlink claims they have already patented. In patent #6,850,221, which was granted in February 2005, Interlink patented a "trigger-operated electronic device", which is only one aspect of the Wii Remote. Interlink is also claiming that the Wii's pointer functionality is infringing copyrights. Interlink wants a trial by jury, and if it wins, they want damage compensation and a ban on the allegedly infringing products.

Yes it's fine for Sony to sue Nintendo if they made a WiiStation that uses WiiRay discs and is bundeld with WiiTurismo, but this is stupid, hope they (interlink) lose..
"they want to ban the controller"... I dont think so. They just want a big claim and big royalties.
I hope Nintendo has the balls to countersue for malicious intent... sue them for every last penny PLUS one dollar... to make sure they and their shareholders are put out of business.
They'll never get a ban on a product thats not damaging to people, and already sold several million of.
Letalone the fact they never said anything about it til now.
GG.
This is dumb, frivolous lawsuits ftl.
do us all a favor
