AMD Posts its Last Catalyst Driver Before Radeon Software Crimson Edition?

AMD posted what could be its final release of Catalyst, before the company switches drivers over to the new Radeon Software Crimson Edition, with a slick new configuration utility. Dubbed Catalyst 15.11 Beta, these drivers come with optimization for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, besides game-specific bug fixes for Star Wars: Battlefront, and Ashes of the Singularity.

Well then, not much for me unfortunately except Star Wars. I plan on playing CoD on XBOX ONE so it looks like its just a quick patch until they get on to Crimson edition.

This is pretty unusual for AMD to optimize a game that comes out the same day on a driver package. Unusual, but a very welcome change.

About time AMD modernized it's software. Hope this is a new start for Radeon Technologies Group.

Should be another driver released by Tuesday for fallout 4 and then following on form that Star wars. So may be a couple more before crimson.

I feel like buying a cheap AMD card just in order to play around with the new control panel. :D

I do have AMD cards, but they're all really old, HD3850x2 (yup, dual GPU) being the newest.

try it! seems new features with these crimson drivers will be thin on the ground. Shader cache seems like a new feature that should reduce stuttering in crossfire configurations so your dual card (if supported) should be able to test that.

Although I doubt it will be supported is quite old now :P

Just updated to 15.11 beta. One thing I noticed is my sleep option is gone after updating. Weird.

Besides the GUI changes, ¿any word on performance improvements and new features in the Radeon Software?

Only heard of feature called shader cache, which in theory helps with crossfire stutter

Are you sure driver updated correctly? Does sound like a driver that didn't update right.

Sleeping likes to disable itself when hardware being actively used doesn't have non-generic drivers installed. I would agree with you on this one that the HDMI audio driver could be the culprit. Personally, ever since I started using DDU every time I change drivers, I've had hardly any issues.

I didn't remove all registry junks before install. It seems I have accumulated junk all the way back to Catalyst 15.7 in my registry. After a complete wipe of previous drivers the problem is fixed.
