Logitech Announces the G900 Chaos Spectrum Gaming Mouse

Logitech today announced its best gaming mouse yet, the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum. The new professional-grade wireless gaming mouse features industry-leading wireless technology, an advanced optical gaming sensor, a flexible ambidextrous design, customizable lighting, mechanical pivot button design and lightweight construction, for maximum performance and comfort over long gameplay sessions. The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum delivers a lag-free wireless performance and long battery life that's trusted by professional eSports gamers.

We talked with eSports pros and none of them love the cable on a wired mouse," said Ujesh Desai vice president and general manager of gaming at Logitech. "They wish they had the freedom of wireless but the performance and reliability of a wired mouse. So that was the design goal we gave our engineers, to build a wireless gaming mouse that was faster than the competition's wired gaming mice. G900 delivers on this promise, and we're confident it's the best gaming mouse we've ever built."
Professional Grade Wireless Technology
With a one-millisecond report rate, and highly optimized 2.40 GHz wireless connection, the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum outperforms both wireless and wired competitors. Thanks in part to the exclusive clock-tuning technology that significantly reduces power consumption, you can play continuously for 32 hours - an entire competition weekend - on a single charge (24 hours with default lighting). When you're running low on power, the Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) Battery Assistant will notify you. There's no need to stop playing to recharge as the mouse seamlessly switches between wireless and wired modes when plugged in. Since a full charge from empty only takes about two hours, you're never attached to the cord for long.

Most Accurate Optical Gaming Sensor
The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum features the PMW3366, Logitech's state-of-the-art optical gaming sensor with our exclusive clock-tuning technology. Widely accepted by enthusiasts and professionals as the best gaming mouse sensor on the market, the PMW3366 precisely interprets every hand movement onto the screen for smooth, responsive performance, even at high sensitivity. It has zero smoothing or filtering across the entire DPI range (200-12,000 DPI), delivering exceptional tracking accuracy and consistent responsiveness at any speed.

Fully Customizable to Fit Your Hand and Style
The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum gives you the freedom to configure your mouse exactly to your preferences. Going beyond ambidextrous, the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum can be transformed into a truly left- or right-handed mouse, using the included magnetic button covers. The mouse is constructed for a non-prescriptive grip that accommodates a variety of palm, claw and fingertip holds. Using LGS, lighting color and brightness can be programmed to match your style, system and environment from a palette of up to 16.8 million colors. Bring your mouse to life with "breathing" light patterns, or set your lighting to sleep when you aren't using your system.

Mechanical Pivot Button Design
The buttons of the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum have been engineered to deliver a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click. A metal spring tensioning system and exclusive mechanical pivoting hinges are built into the main left and right keys. This system reduces the pre-travel distance between the buttons and switches, while also minimizing the force required to click, enabling faster recovery after each click. The result is a heightened response and a consistently fast, accurate and reliable click performance.

Precisely Engineered Lightweight Construction
Every component of the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum has been optimized to reduce weight while maintaining stability. All elements of the construction have been analyzed and adjusted to remove fractions of grams, from the thin wall molding to the hollow "spoked" hyper-fast scroll wheel design. The result is a wireless gaming mouse that weighs in at 107g, making it comfortable to use over long periods and delivering quicker response to motion.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning April 2016 for a suggested retail price of $149.99 and €179.

Wow!
Too pricey for me to even consider. Guess I'll stick with my trusty G500.

For sure, and they kept on going on about how heavy it was , like how many times ?, then they did not say HAHA. And dammit i love the metal wheel you can scroll though so much crap if needed which i have had times.

Really like the mouse even more so being set for leftys too but it all so sounds cheaply made and expensive by price. I think the price will come down to a more $110 mark and with a sale will make it much more appealing.

So i just want to see inside it now see if it's fixable as all mouses die on me just that Razer one die a lot faster than any other.

As for battery life all they done is not to put a laser in it lol. and all this is is to compete with the Sensei Wireless.

I hadn't even noticed, but you're right! It's their optical sensor, not a laser.

The battery life is really low (32h at best case scenario), but that's no surprise since it's only 720 mAh and with weight of about 15 grams.

Putting the battery aside, although a key factor for somebody, the price is just something I can't get over it. You can see in this video how the scroll wheel is hollow - weight reduction BRO. :D

I'm waiting for years for a follow up on my G700 and they release a G900 that have less buttons than my G700. Why it's so hard to make a dual connectivity (wireless and wired) mouse that have more buttons than a normal mouse yet less than a crazy MMORPG setup...

My wife says maybe they will make a video how to clean it :p.

To me they still messed up wit this mouse although looks like a nice improvement for a lefty but their be a G1k with detachable wings lol.

Close but no cigar

Meh, even my G700s lasts a day, just have a spare battery just in case you forget to plug it in and your set.

I don't tend to game longer than 15 hours a time so no issue here lol.

FINALLY. a wireless mouse with the dual mode hyper-fast scroll wheel tech. Ever since I got a logitech g500, I don't think I could ever get a mouse w/o it. As far as I know there has never been a wireless mouse with it... which always perplexed me. not sure what took them so long to include it with a wireless mouse

I don't know, but for that kind of cash I'd rather take their MX Master. It looks better to me.

32h is run to die, with lights off at 1ms, not best case that's really long for 1ms, run to die being put in on a turn table and wait for it to die. You can also plug it in while it charges back up plus it only weights 107g with the battery in there(as it's not removable)

People whine and complain about wireless mice just to whine and complain. I've learned to ignore it.

The same sensor G502 has, which is amazing, and if I am not mistaken, a successor to G500/G500s. It is accurate and have zero acceleration out of the box, without even have to install a driver and disable acceleration through it. A gaming mouse I can use for photo editing with Photoshop and Lightroom comfortably. Not to mention several side buttons that can be used for Photoshop editing tools or shortcuts. I can give my G502 that much praises.

And G900 has Interesting design and features. They implement a new tensioning system almost similar to that of G302/G303, and I welcome the wireless feature very much, although it seems like it has less buttons than G502 due to its ambidextrous shape. I was hoping for a wireless mouse with PMW3366, and now I found it. I am interested to buy one, but unfortunately the price is... not logical, in my personal opinion. For now I stick with my G502 until the price gets lower or better, whichever comes first.

I'd like to see still G400s on shops instead of these spaceship-looking weird things. I don't have a slightest idea which will be my next mouse when this breaks.

Simply use a wired Mouse.

If you ever used their dual scroll wheel you'd know it's fucking amazing for productivity and no one should ever use a scroll wheel in a game if they really care about being competitive so you just disable scroll wheel stuff in games or bind it to your keyboard.

Maybe if you use 5 dollar wireless mice or wireless mice made 8 years ago or perhaps your computer is next to a microwave any wireless mouse that cost more than 20 dollars is flawless under 6 feet now of days.

The mouse i got at work has it, the "infinity" scroll sucks beyond comprehension. Luckily that mouse (MX master) has the ability to disable the feature though the drivers (something locks the wheel in normal mode, but that thing is just another thing that will break). Add that using the wheel as middle click is hopeless on these "infinity" wheels and they become the worst thing to come from Switzerland in long time.
The first scroll is also registered as less of the document/website/piece of text the MX master and it have a precipitable lag when first tuched after 10 min of not being used. It also have shit battery life.

So no, its not "fucking amazing for productivity"

Since the same features apparently are making its way into the G900 i know it will be shit for my use, both at work or at home, witch is a pity because the MX500 style body mouse it the most comfortable for my palm, but Logitech continues to sprinkle the perfect design with nuggets of dog shit.

Well i like it too and i bet so many others do too, and i have found it very useful for going though large scripts for games and websites and some games, although i do wish the switch was lighter to press but o well cannot have it all, well not yet once the warranty's up i will put a lighter switch in it ;).

Logitech choice for the mice was the worst mistake I have ever done. Shitty cheap sensors dying in less than 1 year, anoying coil whines, over priced junk.
No way Jose I will ever ever buy those garbage again.
