ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Availability of ROG Harpe Ace Extreme

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the availability of the ROG Harpe Ace Extreme, an ultralight 47-gram gaming mouse featuring an eye-catching carbon fiber shell that offers extreme maneuverability and outstanding durability. The shape of Harpe Ace Extreme was co-developed with esports professionals to ensure exceptional stability and control when flicking and tracking—especially for players accustomed to playing with a claw grip. Built-in cutting-edge technologies such as the ROG AimPoint Pro optical sensor and ROG Optical Micro Switches ensure absolute pinpoint accuracy and reliability. Additionally, the Harpe Ace Extreme is bundled with a host of premium accessories including a set of Corning Gorilla Glass mouse feet, a hard-shell carrying case, and the ROG Polling Rate Booster.

The ROG Polling Rate Booster, when combined with ROG SpeedNova wireless technology, delivers fast and precise data input at a true 8000 Hz polling rate in both wireless and wired modes. Its plug-and-play design allows users to directly attach the receivers or cables of compatible ROG peripherals.
Carbon fiber construction
The Harpe Ace Extreme takes advantage of carbon fiber's remarkable strength-to-weight ratio to keep weight down to just 47 g, maintaining a pro-tested shape and feel without resorting to a perforated structure. Molding carbon fiber into the iconic Harpe Ace shape requires a rigorous eight-stage manufacturing process to ensure the finished product adheres to exacting ROG standards. Every piece of carbon fiber is meticulously selected, cut, and positioned to ensure the weave patterns on every shell match up at the most aesthetically-pleasing angles, ensuring every Harpe Ace Extreme is unique. This level of care extends to the mouse buttons as well, which are cut from separate pieces of carbon fiber - an approach that ensures the Harpe Ace Extreme retains the same tactile click feel of the original model.

Shaped for stability and control
The shape of the Harpe Ace Extreme was co-developed with esports professionals to ensure outstanding stability and control when flicking or tracking. The classic silhouette of the standard Harpe Ace has been slightly modified to create a slightly-elevated spine on the back of the mouse to give players' frontal palm area additional support.

Exceptional wireless performance
The Harpe Ace Extreme is packed with cutting-edge technologies such as the ROG AimPoint Pro optical sensor, ROG Optical Micro Switches, and ROG SpeedNova wireless technology. The AimPoint Pro optical sensor boasts track-on-glass technology and 42,000 dpi precision to ensure accuracy on almost any surface. Meanwhile, the optical micro switches offer crisp and instant actuation, and have a 100-million-click lifespan. Additionally, ROG SpeedNova wireless technology ensures the polling rate stays at peak performance by cutting through signal jams with powerful connections and by scanning available frequencies. ROG SpeedNova works even in noisy environments congested with RF signal interference from surrounding wireless devices, and it's also compatible with the ROG Polling Rate Booster.

Premium accessories
The Harpe Ace Extreme comes with an array of premium accessories, including a set of Corning Gorilla Glass mouse feet, a carrying case, and the ROG Polling Rate Booster. The glass mouse feet are ideal for cloth mousepad users, providing smoother, more effortless mouse movements while maintaining superior control with better force adjustment and stopping power.

ROG Polling Rate Booster
When combined with a device featuring ultralow-latency ROG SpeedNova wireless technology, the ROG Polling Rate Booster delivers fast and precise data input at a true 8000 Hz wireless polling rate to deliver the lowest-possible delay. The benefits of a higher polling rate are much more pronounced when playing on high-refresh-rate monitors. Reducing the delays between cursor data input and each displayed frame effectively minimizes the inconsistencies in between the intervals of registered data polls. This results in much smoother, more accurate swiping and tracking for better in-game control.

The booster's exclusive plug-and-play design gives users the flexibility to adapt the device to any PC setup, be it wired, wireless, or with a wireless extender. It easily accommodates the receiver or cable of any compatible ROG peripheral.

The Polling Rate Booster supports a wide range of ROG mice and keyboards, with many more models expected to be compatible in the near future. Current supported models include the Harpe Ace Mini, Keris II Ace, Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition, and Keris Wireless AimPoint gaming mice. It also supports the ROG Azoth Extreme, Falchion RX Low-Profile, and Strix Scope II 96 RX Wireless gaming keyboards.

It’s 250-300 bucks depending on what shop you look at. So more or less the same meme mouse as what Viper SE was. Pointlessly expensive thing for people with more money than sense. Just buy a well regarded mouse that is priced normally, order some aftermarket skates, glass or ceramic or whatever you fancy, and you’d still be at half this things price, if not less.

tl:dr F**k off with this, Asus. You aren’t selling a specialty good that’s hand-made like Zaunkoenig.

No? Only ones that off the top of my head that were in this range were this, the Viper SE and the M2K/M3K. Maybe some scalped Finalmouse models. That’s it.

Interesting marketing.

Booster -> Additional device which should be / maybe be / could be directly build in the wireless receiver or the mouse. I doubt the usb cable length really matters when the signal quality of the cable is in the specification.
Wireless Extender -> amazon search word: "usb extension cable"
device -> personal computer / android tablet / android phone / laptop / notebook
paracord cable -> Wired usb mouse.

One dongle to rule them all.

I'm curious about the schematic and x-ray pictures of that "Booster".

Thumbs up to all the above comments, could not agree more, especially the price !

Hello AsSus, this is 2024 calling, and we want all our excessive paper & plastik packaging (including that stupid dongle thingy) back, like, yesterday.....whatever happened to using eco-friendly materials ?

And there aint no friggin way in friggin hell I'm eva, eva, eva paying anywhere near $250-300 for a rodent. Unless of course it cleans my room, yanky me wanky, serves me coffee, and is made of solid gold, platinum or neutronium :D

Rant over, I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.....

Silly ultralight mice. Less material = higher cost apparently.

While I agree the price is too much. I can see the justifications valid such as a paracord cable that no other gaming mice I've seen come with, carbon fiber, if real, is an added expense, too bad it's not even lighter, and name brand skates, which I didn't even know that Gorilla Glass made mouse feet. I don't know if anyone caught that it has true 8K polling rate, Wooting did a article on what the true means, makes me think if reviewers have been seeing no big difference because of reviewing the first peripherals without true polling rate.

Carbon fiber and magnesium are more expensive than plastic and aluminium. Not sure they're 2-3x more expensive but whatever.

8k on wireless LOL. bye bye battery life.

Also, as everyone else has said: the price. There's zero reason to ever buy this. You can get other top end mice for half this price, and from better more respected companies.

What is the advantage of a polling rate boost? For me my standard mouse responds instantly to inputs.

it apparently smooths out your mouse cursor movements when doing high speed tracking (for instant competitive fps games). The mouse I use has 1k polling, and I tried a different one with 4k polling and could not tell a difference, like at all. But I don't play competitive fps, so ............. worthless to me. Plus it's actually worse than worthless since it drains the battery WAY faster.

I would wager that anything over 1k polling is useless for 99.9% of the population of mouse users worldwide, so maybe that's why these things cost a small fortune?

This thing literally looks like some DIY project Joe Schmoe did in his garage using a heat gun and some carbon fiber wrap he bought from Amazon :D

I just found out the actual release date, Sept 24th @ 279 Euro or $310 USD, this is from the ASUS french e-store
EDIT **
I just found it listed on an Scandinavian e-store for $259.99 USD, with the same Sept 24th release date.

Curious when Newegg will add it to their website which has not happened yet, as of 9AM CST.

If you want to see a really wild mouse, here is the 16g zeromouse
