NVIDIA Teases "Pascal" Launch with "Order of 10" Puzzle

NVIDIA just sent reviewers a curious looking briefcase with pieces to an elaborate puzzle under the ominous-sounding Order of 10 website. Besides the puzzle, the site has a countdown that ends on 6th May 2016. The solution to the "Order of 10" puzzle, along with several other highlights, such as a Battlefield 5 reveal, could form highlights of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards. The company plans to unveil its next-generation "Pascal" architecture-based GeForce GPUs, beginning with the GeForce GTX 1080, and the GTX 1070, as early as on 6th May, with reviews and market-availability slated for early-June.

Simple guess would be order of 10 means the 10 series cards. Polaris versus Pascal.... Very soon and will be good to see benchmarks.

That's a bit stupid. I just spent a whole hour solving the puzzle, got as far as completing a hexagon, a vision chart and stars/cube sections. Googled for the rest of it, and apparently it all was just to find a countdown page... I was hoping for something more substantial, like a free GTX1080 or an NVidia sticker, but at least I got my morning brain exercise. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Meh, May 6 is a press-only event. They'll probably have to sign NDAs so the public won't know much more about Pascal than we already do. Having at least some ballpark figures for performance and price would be sweet, but I'm not holding my breath.

Not likely with GP104 being the releasing GPU. Remember that Fermi launched with the GF100 GPU.

The puzzle reminds me of a portal, and the shards leaving the Earth remind me of the phantom zone in the Superman series.
