SeaSonic Unveils its Flagship Prime Titanium PSU Series

PSU giant SeaSonic unveiled its new flagship PSU line, the Prime Titanium. The company showed off an 850W model from the series at the 2016 Computex show. As its name suggests, the PSU boasts of 80 Plus Titanium efficiency. The PSU offers some of the tightest ripple suppression, at under 20 mV. Its hold-up time is 30 ms, allowing for better protection against erratic AC power (eg: during storms). The Hybrid Fan Control spins up the 140 mm fan only beyond an ideal load/temperature threshold, making the PSU quiet during productivity usage. The unit offers fully modular cabling, with enough cabling for a machine with up to three graphics cards, and a motherboard with two 8-pin EPS inputs.

Hmmm, I wonder what that big white button next to the power switch is for?
Dj-ElectriCPSUs i would make love to:
Seasonic
High-end Delta (gotta defend mah parts eh)
Solidstate89I believe he means redundant. Anachronism doesn't apply at all.
Right you are.
R-T-BThere are some actaul benefits to true digital PSUs that should not be ignored. Pretty much why I am running my AXi right now.
That I'm not disputing - digital control is definitely the future of PSUs and I'm hoping that Seasonic throws their hat into this ring soon. But there's a massive difference between having a PSU built on DSPs from the bottom up, versus sticking some (almost always innacurate) monitoring on an analog PSU.

PSU brands that I recommend:
- Seasonic.
Until you get the coil whine. :D But seriosuly, this is a stupid position to have in anything, and there are others as good as Seasonic and even the lower tiers have improved greatly in the past couple of years. Even Andyson makes excellent stuff!

Call me narrow minded or maybe just set in my ways, but wherever it comes time for power supply shopping I simply pick a SeaSonic unit appropriate for the build. These, as usual look spot on, interested to see what Jonny makes of them...

It may be narrow-minded, but there's no denying it's a pretty damn safe bet.

These truly are some of the most well designed, neatest layouts of any PSU I have ever seen. The tested efficiency numbers are higher than the previously released titanium units from other companies. The 909 sustained wattage output before protections had to kick in is an extremely good sign of a very well built unit with large tolerances built in, especially still being able to hit 92.5% efficiency at over 150 watts over its rated maximum. Every single detail about this PSU screams highest quality around. Most people are going to be plenty happy with the 650 watt version for 150 dollars. It is not cheap but it is firmly in the cheaper side of psu's with quite a few units still 200+ dollars.

The average new pc with a mid range card like a rx 480 or gtx 1060 uses between 200-300 system watts. If you live in an air conditioned house this means even with the 650 watt version the fan will not even be needed. Total silence from this unit. Needing no fan up to 50% of its rated power is the highest available power without needing a fan for any hybrid fan unit currently in existence. This PSU is just redefining what people expect in a flagship PSU now. Packaging the PSU with the flat cables is a nice touch every PSU maker should be doing. The flat cables are neater and do not impede airflow as much.

Do not even bother with the fanless model. The hybrid fanless system is so robust on these psu's they all practically act like fanless psu's with a backup fan just incase. This really makes the fanless unitkinda obsolete before it's even out.

Umm, $150 for a 650W PSU is a TON. There are units over $200, but they are also sporting a lot more wattage in most cases. Those are not on teh cheaper side of any PSUs with comprable wattage. The first Titanium rated PSU that is over $200 is a 1KW unit, BTW...

Sounds like you are a Seasonsic marketing bot, honestly. They do make great PSUs, there isn't a doubt about it, but that post screamed marketing shill, sorry.
