AMD to Bundle "Battlefield 1" Upgrade Code with Radeon RX 480 Graphics Cards

AMD is preparing a "Battlefield 1" promotion for its Radeon RX 480 graphics cards. Starting today, RX 480 purchases in select markets are eligible to receive Origin codes that upgrade your "Battlefield 1" Standard Edition purchase to the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition. As an Early Enlister, you get to play the game a few days ahead of the October 21 launch. The way this code works is that you add BF1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition to card in the Origin store, and enter the code as a "promo code" during checkout. Its final price is reduced to that of the Standard Edition. If redeemed after launch, you get the Digital Deluxe Edition at the price of the Standard Edition.

Eh I gotta give EA some credit, the latest version of Origin is quite good, revamped the look and usability.

The very idea of having to install an app from each publisher makes me stay away from any of these "proprietary" stores.
I'm fine with GOG, tyvm.

Do you know titles where the beta sucked, but the released game was good?

In BF4's case, the beta was better than the final release IMO lol

I havent played that many betas but Titanfall 1 beta was pretty much the same as the final release plus a few tweaks here and there. The game wasnt 'bad' per se~ but it got boring quickly and many people didnt bother buying the game after 2 weeks of beta. I did Shattered Horizon beta which was an 'ok' game. though the 3D control thing made combat a little weird. Warframe is kind of a beta (i think) I used to play that a lot and rather enjoyed it.... Not sure if i did GW2 beta but i think that game ended up more or less the same as the final release plus a few tweakages here and there.

-- I dont jump the gun like most people do who play the beta and think thats the be all and end all about the final release. I also dont pre-order my games or have never paid money into any kick starter projects for games

You got your card...

This is a promotion to get people interested that wouldn't be otherwise (or considering an NVIDA card instead).

You are not some entitled snowflake who gets every promotion many months AFTER you buy a card. Is it unfair that subway doesnt give you a free sandwich since they started a new 1/2 off ad campaign a month after you bought something there? no. Is it unfair crap when a car dealership starts a trade in credit program half a hear after you bought a car from them? Also no.

So stop whining.

Well in this case you would mean the Graphics card, this is a bonus you get with buying a graphics card not the other way around

No, this is extra incentive for those who have not yet, what can I say, if you want to best or should I say the cheapest, never be an early adopter.

Hmm I buy from GoG as well but personally I really like having so many games under one app, easy to see what I have, not so separately scattered around my HDD/PC.
Idk gives some structure which I personally really like.

Exactly where should the retroactive cutoff be if you were running the business? Things have a start and end time. You bought the card, because that is what you wanted. This is just an incentive to prod sales, just like car dealers do when sales are slow.

I've always been an early adopter

Dating back to the HD 4000 series

I see what you mean. It would be nice if GOG offered an app to manage everything you bought from them. Something like: www.gog.com/galaxy
And yes, one app to manage them all is what I want too. Not one app for Valve titles, one for EA, one for Ubisoft and so on.

No you're not. You could have bought it the second the offer expired and you'd be entitled to nothing. This goes for everyone, not just you. Why don't you ask them nicely and see what they say? ;)
Recon-UKI want a free beer with my fries.
That's after you've bought the fries. tsk, you're getting sloppy and forgetful. :p

I have no respect for Origin nor the Battle.net client at this stage; each one of them uses 9-10% of my CPU, which for a background app just to launch games to me is unacceptable. That is 1/5th of my CPU, no no and no. I no longer auto launch them with my system startup.

Something sounds fishy here. My system idles at 1% usage with origin/steam/galaxy running in the background. Sounds like you have a stuck origin or battle.net update. Or something wrong with your windows installation.
