Sharkoon Announces the M25-W ATX Midi Tower with Virtual 7.1 Sound

Sharkoon is expanding their lineup of ATX cases through the introduction of the Sharkoon M25-W. Available in both black and white, the M25-W pack an interesting feature: thanks to its integrated sound card, virtual 7.1 surround sound is conveniently provided through the audio front port on the case. As a result, it is ideal as a second sound source when operating speakers and headsets on a Windows PC. The M25-W dimensions are 45.0 x 21.0 x 46.5 cm (L x W x H) and weighs 6.5 kg.

The extra-large acrylic side panel offers an inside view of the case, which is illuminated by the pre-installed 120 mm LED fan on the rear panel. For internal arrangement there is a special tunnel on the case bottom, in which a power supply as well as up to three 3.5" hard drives can be inconspicuously installed while also ensuring optimized airflow.
The mainboard and the remaining components enjoy perfect cabling thanks to the cable outlets. Maximum length for graphics cards is 40 cm; power supplies with a length of up to 20.5 cm. Pre-installed dust filters protect installed hardware from contamination. Attached on the top panel is an additional pre-installed filter with magnetic fastener. The cableless front panel is easily removable and facilitates, for example, the installation of a 5.25" drive bay. Two 120 mm fans in the front are factory installed, and pre-drilled holes for a 140 mm fan already exist. Optionally, three 120 mm or two 140 mm fans can be additionally mounted to the top panel. The front also offers the possibility to operate a 240 mm or 280 mm radiator, with a total height of 5.0 cm including fan.

The corresponding audio software for Windows allows virtual 7.1 surround plus individual equalizer functions, effects and microphone boost settings. The integrated USB sound card easily connects to the mainboard via the internal USB port. Stereo mode without driver installation is also possible.

The Sharkoon M25-W (Window) ATX Midi Tower is now available for the suggested retail price of 54.90 euros from authorized retailers. The M25-V (Value) is also alternatively available without the integrated sound and acrylic side panel for 44.90 euros.

Pity it only has an acrylic side panel, I prefer tempered glass.

Clearly I have time travelled back to 2013 where acrylic windows and optical bays were common sights in new cases.

Guessing it's just a cheap USB audio card? Meh. Other than it being cleaner, why not just use onboard?
