NVIDIA NForce4 for Pentium4 out soon
NVIDIA will present (behind closed doors) their first Intel chipset at the Intel Developer Forum next week. The public release is scheduled to be at CeBit in Germany this march.
The new chipset will be for Intel's LGA 775 socket with a FSB of 800 and 1066 MHz.
NVIDIA took AMD's HyperTransport architecture and ported it to the Pentium. Supported memory is DDR2 only.
The chipset will support either one 16x PCIE interface or two 8x ports running as SLI.
The Southbridge will support (now) common features like SATA, IDE, 5 PCI slots, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 and 7.1 Audio.
