Cherry Announces the MC 4900 Mouse with Fingerprint Reader

CHERRY, the specialist for computer input devices, introduces the MC 4900, a wired 3-button mouse with integrated fingerprint reader which allows easy logon and secure authentication. In particular, businesses and public institutions will benefit from this modern security feature. Ease of use and ergonomics are of the usual high CHERRY standards.

The main feature of the new CHERRY MC 4900 is the integrated Crossmatch TouchChip TCS2 sensor with capacitive sensing technology. This makes the mouse particularly suitable for workstations that are used by different users within a company, government agency or institution. The fingerprint is used for secure and fast authentication, whether through 'single sign-on' (one-time registration) or several log-in stages in the appropriate software.
Plug & Play functionality for Windows Hello
Thanks to a 1.8-meter long USB cable and Plug & Play functionality, the MC 4900 doesn't require additional software when connected to a PC, and the integrated fingerprint sensor gives the mouse full compatibility with Windows Hello. This means that users can easily and securely log into Windows 10 devices with their fingerprint, no password required. The optional SDK offers the possibility to implement additional software functions.

Symmetrical shape and great comfort
The MC 4900 is designed by CHERRY as a modern 3-button mouse with a symmetrical shape, suitable for both right- and left-handers, making it easier to be operated by different users. To achieve a high input precision the optical sensor has a sampling rate of 1375 dpi. Rubberized side panels and an extra-wide scroll wheel guarantee a comfortable hand position.

The MC 4900 is now available at a recommended retail price of € 110 / $130 / £100.
