ASUS ROG Announces Strix GL12 Gaming Desktop

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced Strix GL12, a gaming desktop with a unique combination of extreme gaming performance and striking, unconventional design. Strix GL12 is powered by up to a factory-overclocked 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics for unmatched gaming prowess. It features an esports-ready, easy-swap 2.5-inch SSD tray that can be taken out and replaced in seconds, all without having to shut down the system. Strix GL12 has aggressive, angular 'slashes' across the front of the chassis, a transparent side panel, and customizable ASUS Aura Sync lighting effects.

Strix GL12 is powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700K processor, with every processor having been tested and handpicked by ROG engineers to ensure the very best performance. When combined with Turbo Gear, these top-of-the-line processors can be overclocked to speeds of up to 4.8 GHz (hexa-core) - that's up to 50% faster than previous-generation processors. It's also even faster than Intel Turbo Boost, which overclocks to a maximum speed of 4.3 GHz (hexa-core).
Strix GL12 features up to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card for 3X the performance of previous-generation graphics cards, ensuring incredible gaming visuals and VR experiences without compromising energy efficiency. In addition, NVIDIA G-SYNC technology also gets rid of lag, minimizes perceived stutter, and eliminates visual tearing to provide smooth and fast visuals, without affecting system performance.

Upgrade-Friendly Features
Strix GL12 has a clever internal layout that provides plenty of room for expansion. It has an esports-ready, easy-swap 2.5-inch SSD tray that can be replaced on the fly without having to shut down the system. GL12 also houses up to two HDDs, one SSD, two exhaust fans, and features easy cable routing to keep the insides of the chassis neat and organized.

Aggressive Design and Aura Sync Technology
Strix GL12 has an unconventional design with aggressive, angular 'slashes' across the front of the chassis, a transparent side panel, and customizable Aura Sync lighting effects.

Aura Sync technology gives gamers the freedom to customize lighting effects for the 'slashes' on the front panel of Strix GL12 using over 16 million colors, with several distinctive preset effects. The transparent side panel lets gamers showcase the internal components, including the water-cooling block with a glowing red ROG logo.

Gamers can synchronize lighting effects with Aura Sync-supported keyboards, mice, earphones and other peripherals to give the entire gaming setup a consistent look and feel that reflects their gaming persona, or the feel of the game that's currently being played.
