S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Returns to Life

Developer GSC Game World announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 almost eight years ago in 2010. To say that the game has been on a wild roller coaster ride is an understatement. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was cancelled back in 2011 and resurrected later on in the same year. Then GSC Game World cancelled it for a second time in 2012. Now, six years later, it appears that the developer is willing to give it another go. The official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 website went live today with the "2.0.2.1." inscription suggesting that the game is scheduled for a 2021 release. Sergiy Grygorovych, CEO of GSC Game World, has confirmed on his Facebook that GSC Game World is currently working on the title. Not much is known about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 at this point other than it's built on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4.

rtwjunkieYep, totally not interested. Because what it will be is never completing the game if they try to put an objective in there, since players will just be trying to wipe out any competition.
That is what I want BUT with some form of level Caps or some regulation in that sense.
neatfeatguyIf that info is true, I'll pass. I'm so fricking tired of games forcing multiplayer into them.....I hate playing games with random, whiny, little piss-ants and forced crap to make playing the game a hassle such as;

"The game has perma-death. After you lose three characters, you’ll have to buy new ones with in-game currency. Yes, this means you may have to pay real money. Joining an alliance and making friends will thus be beneficial. "

"In-game money can be bought with real money. There will be a „contraband store” where players can buy equipment for in-game money, but hunting artifacts will be more profitable "

I'm so tired of companies putting out a game and then trying to nickle and dime everyone in some stupid ass way.

If this news is fake - that'll be good to hear. I wouldn't think they'd just make up stupid stuff like it, it sounds more like something EA would do. I'll be patiently waiting to see how the game pans out.
Micro transactions are okay but only for cosmetics in my opinion. Although some could give an advantage like super camouflage or something like that.

AhhzzGotta agree there.

Speaking of RL Cash, All the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are on sale at GoG, 75% off ;)
I've owned the entire series for what feels like a decade. Such a great series that just ceased to exist. :( Along came Metro, which was good, but it didn't provide the same thrill; not even close. Sometimes I wish I was a billionaire if for no other reason then to bring the brightest game designers and programmers together to create and continue my favorite games.

In that case, I would be able to entice all of the former GSC crew back together to continue what they started.

As long as you held off until the next Metro, Exodus gets released, since they have some of those guys. :D I want both main courses to my meal!

droopyROIt now seems it was a bad joke from a Russian site. I will keep my fingers crossed this is the case.
This does show though, just how big a deal the STALKER series was and still is, when even little jokes and possibilities bring cries of excitement and hope.

Doesn't matter if it was fake or not. GSC is a shadow of its former self, and they screwed around too much with the licensing of STALKER franchise in the past, when the initial team that made the previous 3 games wanted to make the second one by buying the license. Sergey held onto it and refused.

If it is or isn't full online, isn't going to be the problem. The Problem is inherent to what is happening now with the country as a whole. I do not have any hope for this. But if it turns out I am wrong, then I will be happy.

An update:
STALKER 2 might be set for a release in 2021, but it’s yet to actually secure a publisher. According to Epic Games’s director of publishing Sergey Galyonkin (who you may also know as the founder of SteamSpy), the game is currently in the design doc phase, and developers GSC GameWorld are hoping to secure a publisher at E3.
