Cooler Master Introduces the MasterCase SL600M

Cooler Master, a global leader in manufacturing CPU coolers, computer components and peripherals, today, announced the availability of the MasterCase SL600M, marking the start of the SL series, designed to blur the lines between work and play.

Clad in sand-blasted anodized aluminum and sans any RGB features, the MasterCase SL600M is designed to be the centerpiece of a home office or workplace with the capability of powering a high-end gaming setup. "Fusing together professional aesthetics and gaming functionality took more than just exterior changes, it demanded an altered perspective on system layouts and cooling," said Matteo Stracciari, General Manager of Case at Cooler Master. "Instead of using brute-force cooling methods, the chassis takes advantage of the natural rise of heat."
Taking a new approach to the internal layout of a PC, Cooler Master reconfigured the SL600M to truly have a vertical layout and take advantage of the natural convection of heat. Equipped with two 200mm intake fans at the base and with the PSU oriented at the top front of the case, the SL600M provides a more direct path of airflow to the internal components and funnels warm air out through the top mesh of the case. For increased expulsion of air, the top panel of the SL600M can be raised to rest atop the mesh covering or be completely removed.

Vertically mounting a graphics card is also no longer just an aesthetic option. With the SL600M, the PCI mounting window can be rotated 90 degrees to allow for two graphics cards to be mounted vertically, in tandem, and allow for more direct airflow to the GPU. With decreased temperatures, the GPU fans are less-likely to be triggered and help to decrease system noise.

The front I/O of the SL600M is outfitted with the connectivity needed to support both creative professional and gamer's needs. With one USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a PWM fan speed slider, microphone jack and a 3.5mm headset jack, the SL600M aims to never leave a user searching for a spare space to connect their accessories. A proximity sensor positioned behind the front panel triggers the temporary illumination of the USB ports for easy plug-and-play access.

Pricing & Availability
Backed by a two- year limited warranty, the MasterCase SL600M is available for pre-sale, today, on Newegg.com for a starting MSRP of $199.99 USD.

You mean to tell me a max overclocked processor, large PSU, board VRM, and top tier graphics card require some capacity for cooling that should be considered when designing a chassis?

CM was among the worst offenders but to their credit the higher end MasterCase options never completely lost sight of their intended use. The only really questionable design is that mesh top panel. MC Pro 3 I'm using appears to have a less restricted ability to vent out the top panel without letting in dust.

S.O.S.S.L.L.....

But on a positive note, the bottom legs and front panel are reminiscent of the old Mac Pro towers, which were really, really solid and well made as well as being functional and beautifully crafted too..... wonder if this one will hold up like they did ?

That is another excellent offering from CM. The case ticks all the right boxes for me save one, 5.25" bays. However external USB enclosures to the rescue..
