Instead of releasing ram kit which only few cpu can run, ram manufacturer need to release 2933 MHz 1.2V JEDEC spec Ram. AMD's 2nd gen Ryzen and Threadripper both support 2933 MHz at JEDEC time. But most RAM kit still has 2133 JEDEC speed and higher speed enabled by enabling XMP/A-XMP.

Such a wasted opportunity going RGB... They should have used predefined colors instead. At 8 sticks, they'd have one more color than the rainbow, that would have been a cool marketing pitch :D

Few AMD CPU can run it, but Intel can run it easily. There is demand for high performance 64GB kits for the X299 segment.

@Vario "few AMD CPUs can run it *"

* yet

FTFY.

It's quite likely that the Zen 2 based ones will be much better in this respect, if not someone will have made a mess of that I/O die (unlikely). ;)

I'm pretty sure that even Intel CPUs are not "easily" running 4.2 GHz kits.

Also these golden modules look awful imo.

Fair enough. Seeing what Jay did with them was actually really cool. I'm thinking of doing a White and Gold build myself. Might just have to pick something similar.

How about high performance RAM without all the garish crap?

Was just looking to that video and was thinking myself. Damn, nothing beats gold with BLACK! I donno, the white color just doesn't match properly with gold in my opinion.
Btw, is there a video with the final build, or not yet? :)

Mine can run 2x module at that speed but I am not sure about 8x.

Interesting. I actually like the White and Gold with the Black accents. Looks really elegant to me. But Black and Gold looks good too.
