The more we see this the more we cant understand why somebody would buy this motherboard, this is not even a dual cpu board, if it was a dual cpu board maybe as this would be aimed to server market but seen this as a high end desktop motherboard, it makes no sense at all.

The funny thing and especially the irony is that a Core i7 9700K will smoke this Xeon and mobo in Games out of this dimension.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

that is until more than 6 cores/threads are available used... then the 9700k is looking up, pud in hand wondering what hit it.

Clearly the point of this cpu isnt to be a fast single threaded monster... like a drag car cant hang on a track. Why its compared that way... I have no idea.

It was presented as both. They had it clocked at 5GHz (with ridiculous cooling, but still). They made it look like this was the ultimate CPU with the best of both worlds - loads of cores for any highly threaded workload, while still being ridiculously fast per core.

It overclocks. Cool. :)

Out of the box it's an HEDT cpu and not intended to be a sprinter...but unlike other xeons it has the tools to be faster... which intel showed off. But clearly, it isn't meant to compete with a 6c/6t CPU with higher clocks. But for anything that can use its c/t...

For those who want/need the cores it can overclock. Really it changes nothing I said. It's an overclockable xeon...if one can use the cores and threads it will walk the 9700k off the edge. If they overclock it (on ambient water cooling, Id imagine 4 Ghz is in the cards), it shoves the 9700k off the edge.

if I had 1,550€ in my bank account right now, I would feel very rich..

You can always find insanely expensive hardware if you look. This is the top of the top tier stuff here, high prices are a given. Though I won't try to argue the fact that prices have gone up in general. Just pointing out this isn't the product to slam for its price.

I'm with everyone else - ROG branding on this makes absolutely no sense - this product is going to be worthless for gaming and game engines will never "grow into" that many cores at such a low clockspeed.

RTX price = Blame NVIDIA for that! Many of us here are complaining about the RTX cards being too expensive and many of us stick with our 1080/1080Ti. That price had nothing to do with us Japanese.

If you think the price for that monitor is still common sense at ~2300$, then you are part of the same sheeple who is fine with this and accept anything without question and remorse. Congrats! And I am amused that some people from Europe thought they could go here and buy RTX card for a price cheaper than in their own countries. The travel cost alone is already expensive. And companies like ASUS and Corsair are always known for their high price, even here in Japan.

The correct sentence would be "If you think the $2,300 price for that monitor is reasonable..."

And read thoroughly. In no part in my post I wrote I thought the price was reasonable.

I know this, there is also the import tax and all, but still, when the final price of a product sold here in JP is more than 150% over the original price, then you cannot find those "excuses" acceptable....

Yeah, I meant performance in games. Especially that the mobo is branded with a gaming logo....
Btw, 9700K is an 8 Core CPU :D
