Spiffy. Newegg has a blunder up I Guess you could say. They have a pic and link showing a foxconn 8800 GTS 640MB version for 299.99. Well, when I clicked on it, it went to other foxconn cards and said sorry, this ad has been removed or rejected one. Nice to see they are on their toes :).

Also, the lowest price for one of these cards I Saw on there was 309.99.

Newegg isn't perfect, when the first Blu-Ray burners started to hit the market I went on newegg to see what they were selling them for and I saw the Lite-on drive marked as $59.99. I was very happy and added it to my card, unfortunately it added to the cart at the correct $599.99 price.

I did manage to get screen shot of the newegg listing though before it got fixed though.

i can see the 8800gts 320mb being my next dx9 card, no point in buying it for dx10 imo and i dont need to explain thyis to anyone on here as we all know the thread space the 8800 and dx10 have been generating :p but for dx9 bring it on baby, when it drops to £150 ill get myself one until a 2nd gen dx10 card comes out aswell as some dx10 games (crysis ftw w00t) :toast:

peace.

Its best to get thr 640MB version.
The 320MB isnt enough for new games and later on is going to be even less.

That greatly depends on resolution. Most people will get by just fine with 320MB.

Well you have a high end card, and i bet you want to max everything out, including textures...according to guru3d, higher textures killed performance big time, regardless of clocks...when comparing the 320 to the 640...plus it about 50 bucks more.

In Owners Opinion

They (Guru3d.com) did a poll on what resolutions users are gaming at.

So if you are STUCK at 1280x1024 by your LCD then the 320mb card will be fine. However if you go above 1600xWhatever in your games then FORGETABOUTIT. Also they stated that w/ DX10 Games like CRYSIS that 512mb would be their choice for minimum.

I enjoyed reading Guru3d.com review.
However, it occured to me when reading it, (through no fault of their own) that reviewers are being forced to use DX9 games and Benchmarks to test DX10 hardware. They use these numbers to try to give us a good idea of the preformanc of the cards in future DX10 Games.

Guru3D.com touched on this at the end of the review and also stated that Nvidia...will get that job nicely done.
"I also know that over the upcoming weeks we will see drivers that will bring a smile to our faces and deliver as promised. NVIDIA will definitely get that job nicely done, the question simply remains when ? "

Also in the review they are happy about the Overclocking Performance of the 320mb cards.
I say big w00t. Overclock my 640mb card and get the same or better numbers!

IMO or IOO (In Owners Opinion):pimp:
