Ubisoft Announces Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint. In this new game, you play a "Ghost" - an elite special ops soldier who fights the "Wolves" as its main cause. Its another release in Tom Clancy series, this time following the steps and improving upon its previous release - Wildlands.

Update: The developer has commented on Twitter, that the game will be "always online" - there is no offline mode, which explains why AI-controlled bots on your team have been removed.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military-like shooter set in an open world environment where you are constantly surrounded by threats. You are fighting the "Wolves", an ex-military group that has gone rogue. They are ready to use any means necessary to take you down. Nature is ruthless as well - there are things like slippery slopes where you can easily tumble down and lose health. However, the game action being set in the jungle, you can use many of nature's elements to hide when needed.
Ubisoft has released a 14-minute long gameplay video which shows the game's graphics, characters, and missions.

The game can be pre-ordered for 59.99$ from Ubi Store. There are several editions of the game:
  • The Gold Edition with the base game and the Year 1 Pass ($99).
  • The Ultimate Edition with the base game, the Year 1 Pass and the Ultimate Pack ($119.99).
  • The Wolves Collector's Edition with the base game, the Year 1 Pass, the Ultimate Pack, a Ubicollectibles figurine of Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, a Steelbook, exclusive lithographs, Walker's dog tag, and a waterproof map of Auroa as well as the soundtrack ($189.99).
Breakpoint will be released on 4th October for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. For PC gamers game will be available either in Epic Games or Ubi Store.

rtwjunkieLOL. “Uplay launcher bad”.
Its is kinda bad compared to my other 3 luncher.
It is the only luncher that fails during update. And it has to time tracking function, so no way to tell how much time I spend on a game.

I have the exact opposite experience. It’s my most stable launcher and updates games beautifully.

Funnily enough, every single game tells me how many hours I played, plus a whole host of stats from each game. That’s how I know exactly that I have 278 hours in AC Odyssey, for example. So where are you getting that information, then?

The MS store is the worst. When you listed the digital video games stores you didn't mention having a MS account. I bought Gears of War 1 and 4 from them and when they finished downloading they didn't even put launch icons on my desktop. When I navigated to the folder they were in I was excluded from even looking at the files and I am the administrator. They did get added to my search bar menu. Why the heck they want to do that is beyond me. They don't even show up in my control panel to uninstall. The folder is 250 GB. I think they might have put some programs in that folder other than the 2 games I bought and when I have played the games and maybe decide to uninstall them whatever else is in that folder will probably remain.

I have never had a problem with ubisoft and every time there has been an update have been notified well in advance. The loading of the game has been excellent.

On Steam, if you go to UserName>Activity>Games it will show you how many hours you played the game total.
On uplay you have to open the game, then go to the particular save, then it will show how many hours you play the particular save. But the games I have, only have three save slots. If I want to play fourth time then I have to overright one,and overwrithing delets play time for that save.
I have played Blood dragon atleast 5 with different difficulty level and approch. But I only have save for last three play and game time for those play. But dont have the other two's play time.

GR:W is a game you play once and you forget it,but at least you have a good time during that +60h campaign thanks to the beautiful, vast open world and good game mechanics.
What new does this offer? Are they gonna torment me with more of the same set in different country?

The updates they have had have been fun. But I play a few matches now and then.

No thanks, not at the prices. Bu I have to say multi player games are more fun, It is much better to play with other people than bots, unless it is a solo/offline game.

that depends.
I gotta say I find the division (1) as the perfect balance between sp and mp.the game combines the two seamlessly.

Sure, if you want a game that has mindless, monotonous repetition.

All, or just the last couple? The original is a legend, and Advanced Warfighter was a pretty well done game that built off the original. Perhaps you mean Future Soldier and Wildlands, where the series kind of changed things up?

unikinI've had unpleasant "fortune" to be 19 years old army medic recruit when war in Yugoslavia started. I saw first hand what kind of flash wounds Kalashnikov and Dragunov do. You can get away with being hit by low velocity ammunition if you're extremely lucky or if 7.62 penetrates your lungs and go through you (deadly with 5.56×45mm - lower velocity makes it bounce off bones) or hits your arms/legs. Everything else means death. Fighting after being shot with assault rifle? Possible, but only in Hollywood movies and games.
funny how he stopped responding after this reply... internet combat experts are the worst

Well, the initial reply about being a combat medic has some flawed details.

5.56 is significantly higher velocity than 7.62. That is part of the reason why it was developed. An increase in speed exponentially increases force where mass proportionally increases force. 5.56 uses less mess to apply more force.

Slightly higher to significantly higher, yes, but the heavier 7.62mm bullet weight of 7.62 leads to greater momentum. He is correct in the end result, that 7.62 creates more pass through wounds than 5.56 which will eff up lots of stuff in the body.

As a medic he doesn’t need to know which has the higher velocity, but what the end result of their impact on a body is and how to treat them.

I responded that way to the guy because I thoroughly detest people calling into question people’s backgrounds in military-related matters when they obviously have none. If he did, he’d not act that way to the other’s remark.

I just open the game window and more game stats are there for me than any other launcher provides, with hours played being front and center.

They both provide the hours, but just do it differently.

While I agree, most in the military would know either way. Not that it makes a hill beans anyway.

Even Russia went to 5.45 and dropped 7.62. You are correct that 7.62 carries more momentum which is why 7.62 is used for distance as it holds its speed longer. 5mm class rounds just can't carry it.

Perhaps old games don't support it?

none, I'd rather listen to what someone who has had first-hand experience in real life combat (in this case: unikin, the person I replied to) than to armchair experts talking about what kind of calibers trained soldiers would be able to shrug off and continue fighting. if you're playing devil's advocate, then you're doing a really shitty job of doing so.
alternatively you mis-interpreted what I meant and went with a full-on passive aggressive remark. way to go.

No, not playing devil’s advocate. You made a snide remark about his not sticking around to talk about it. As a combat vet, he is not likely to do that. That’s just the way it is.

If you meant something else, then longer sentences would go a long way to saying what you intended. Short as it was, it can only come accross as negative toward the medic.

I said that the guy he replied to stopped talking after he got the extensive reply from the combat medic.

unikinAnother Ghost Recon, another crap… Where are the glorious days of original Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (2001) when one shot meant one kill? The same happened with Rainbow 6 series. I had so much fun playing these true tactical shooters.
Same here. Couldn't stand any Ghost Recon since the first. All it really lacked was the godlike aim of the bots being resolved. Otherwise, it was brilliant. Fantastic fun in COOP too.
