Grand Theft Auto V Premium Edition Free to Grab on Epic Games Store

Epic Games has just done something that's sure to garner a lot of attention: they're offering free copies of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V. Yes, you can stop reading now and go on and grab it; you know you want to, even if you've played it on console already. The game is the latest entry in one of the most legendary franchises in gaming, and as it stands, counts with a 96 Metascore and a 7.8 user score. Even though the game has been released over five years ago, it's still one of the greatest, featuring a live community on its online components.

So I linked my RS account to Epic, and now when I logged in all my money (tens of millions) are gone, but I do see my old character. WTF?

I can't even get into any game through that pile of steaming shite, Rockstar Game Launcher. I must have verified hundreds of buses, traffic lights, fire hydrants and cars just to play an effing game.
Error response from both Steam and Epic.

Seems like R* is getting hammered like Epic was a couple days ago.

Oof. That sounds like a version of what happened about a month ago. I'd contact R* support to get it fixed. You could try signing in and out to see if that fixes it as well.

LOL there's no way to contact the support about this. Their support page is complete mess.

Why would Rockstar be hammered right now anyway? And why doesn't the launcher remember the username and password when the software is updated, even when I hit 'remember me'?
I've examined dozens of buses, fire hydrants and traffic lights which now make me an expert on such mundane objects :banghead:

You have to be signed in, but from this page, click GTA V > Online Play > Missing In-Game Item (Gameplay Progress might work too) > PC and you should be able to create a ticket. I just tried it and it works, though the site is still really slow.

Everyone who got the game on Epic is now trying to log into R* (plus the regular GTA players) and we saw what happened on the first day with EGS. Though it seems like all of R* is being hammered right now. Just creating a ticket is a chore. As for why the launcher isn't remembering your name, that's on the servers being hammered. I've seen it happen on Steam, Origin, Uplay and we also just saw it with EGS. Unless you want to keep reentering your info every time, the only thing you can really do is wait a couple days and hope they fix their ish.

Edit: I went through the process to create a ticket to make sure it works for Octopuss and logging out gave me an Internal Server Error. lol R* really underestimated the traffic they were gonna get.
