This form factor is typically not called Mini-ITX but Thin-ITX, it is a sub-specification of Mini-ITX with low profile IO, the CPU socket in a designated spot, horizontal So-DIMMs, etc. While it is "upwards" compatible with regular ITX it is typically used in different applications (1U servers, pre-built industrial PCs, etc.).
