SuperPi 1M record Smashed by s.O.t. member Roro

Thanks to liquid nitrogen, voltmods, kilowatt power supplies, and powerful Intel processors, the 9 second SuperPi "wall" has been smashed to pieces. The specs, according to Roro's thread on XtremeSystems:
  • Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800
  • Asus P5W64 Ws Pro Full Mod
  • Cellshock PC8000 C4
  • Enermax Galaxy 1000W
  • Windows By Chris
  • LN2 Cooling
You can see the exact screenshot of everything below.

Let me just say, that fighting for the fastest calculation of pi is just...well...lame, to put it fairly. Imagine competing with other people to be the fastest person to work out pi using only pen and paper? You wouldnt do that, so why bother with this :p?

It IS good for a general performance guideline though ;) Ill give them that.

quite fast enough, hope it is not fake... although the super pi calculation doesnt mean ur computer is the fastest or not, its not really a benchmark for me..

you have to admit though that the 5.6 ghz overclock is pretty impressive

that's a crazy overclock, 5.6 ghz? and to think, i have my chip running at stock (AHH dell stuff, lol i know im one of the few here that have a laptop as their main machine) now if they only had a laptop chipset that could hit desktop fsb speeds....

randomperson21holy crap 5.6ghz!?!?! thats INSANE!
I suppose not so much insane when you're someone who will take the time and effort to make an overclock like that work, using liquid nitrogen to cool and all...some people just have way too much time on their hands lol

wow LN + Conroe =teh hotness
I mean it looks like several users are able to clock the conroes that high.

I'd still like to see it in 3d06, prolly break 4k on a dual core

Ummm, is it me, or does 1.225V seem kinda low for the cpu at that speed?

zooming in in photoshop, I can see some points it looks like it was butchered... Now if the original pic was not a jpg, I could be wrong, but in some areas, mainly cas latency menu (not just the cas latency) there is some concern with text being off by a pixel. Cpu-z, text is not the same color... two hex codes off.

If its cooled really well, you dont need to up voltage really. Besides he had modded windows os, board (someone explain to me how to mod your mobo...please) and ln2. Not bad really.

that odd pixelation is all over the pic, could be legit could be fake, but the one at hwbot seems more trustworthy.

From my experience most compressed images suffer pixellation around the text areas.
I already looked at this and all of the areas that contain text are equally effected, so its either real or just a really good photoshopper who knew how to fake something properly.

Im doubting the second because i would have just reconstructed the whole thing from the ground up to avoid shitty pixellation at all. Larger format file. It does have a weird resolution though...il give it that.
