Possible Custom NVIDIA RTX 4090 Cooler Features 13 Heatpipes

With a typical graphics power (TGP) of 450 W, and power limit of 600 W, the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 will be one hot GPU if not cooled really well. We don't expect a single 2-slot air-cooled RTX 4090, and even 3-slot could be close-to-reference, leaving 4-slot to be the standard (at least every custom RTX 4090 leak we've come across points to a 4-slot design). Twitter user "wxnod," behind spectacular leaks of ZOTAC and GIGABYTE graphics card boxes, is back with pictures of what is possibly the cooling solution of a custom-design RTX 4090 (or RTX 4080). The cooler features multiple aluminium fin-stacks skewered by as many as thirteen 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes. These pipes don't make contact with the GPU, but rather a copper vapor-chamber that serves as a base-plate for the GPU, and possibly memory chips surrounding it.

Staggering beyond words at this one. A 13 heat pipe vapour chamber. I cannot wait to see how this generation pans out but if this isn't one of the top level SKUs with an unnecessary amount of cooling; then, we are nearing the second coming of Fermi jokes.

...and we still won't be capable to render CP2077, etc. at a *solid* 60FPS @ 0.1% lows (w/RT enabled and DLSS off), so, what's the damn point?!

No GPUs in the next 2 installments, '22 and '24, will be worthy be to be called "next-gen" cards, on purpose.

PERIOD!

4080 anniversary 480 space heater edition. Damn, and I was already quite concerned with my 3080 being 320w card (although it doesn't break 280w in aaa games after undervolting to 1875@0.868, e.g. metro exodus with RT on ultra preset that stresses undervolting the best so far) after upgrading from extremely efficient 1080. Pascal was the best gen of the last 10 years.

From what i know a 6mm heatpipe will take up to 40w of heat. 13x40=520W cooler.
But the GPU die is in semi-direct transfer with 5 or 6 pipes, the rest are indirect.
Now combined with a Intel 13900K, 240w. Plus heat from PSU,HDD,SSD,Chipset and there you go 1000W

No.

The vapor-chamber was removed for the sole purpose of photographing the heatpipes. NONE of the heatpipes are in direct contact with the die.
