Logitech G and Herman Miller is Planning to Release a New Gaming Chair
Back in July 2020, Logitech G and Herman Miller unveiled a special edition of the Embody chair from Herman Miller as a gaming chair unlike anything that was on the market at the time. It didn't get rave reviews as a gaming chair, although it's considered a very good office chair in the Herman Miller range. There was also the issue of the asking price, which was a steep US$1,495.
Fast forward to 2022 and the two companies are planning to release what they call an "ergonomic chair designed to adapt to every gamer's needs". The two companies have apparently had a closer collaboration this time and have created their "first-ever design built from the ground up to support every mode of play". The new chair is set to launch on the 6th of October and until then we only have a small teaser picture of what appears to be the back of the chair and what should be the lumbar support adjustment wheel.

It's without a doubt the best purchase I ever made for my setup and 9 years on I don't even give a second thought to how much I spent.
Hate to say it but buying a good chair is like buying a good set of knives. It's stupid expensive. But if you do it right you can pass it on again and again and again. You do get what you are paying for. Some shoddy 200 buck pile of crap or really any sub 1k thing isn't the same as a full blown industrial grade chair. IMHO your most sold investment is going to be a good chair and good desk. Worry about the computer later. I use an MS Pro mouse, with the same damn sensor those others use just like when I played quake. Also have steelseries stuff.
I made snarky comments when I was in my 20's because I couldn't fathom spending more then the bare minimum on "just a chair". Later as professional life took hold and I found myself spending a lot of time in chairs, I gradually became more particular about features and quality. And heath, proper support goes a long way.
Those are probably the people buying these chairs.
I'm definitely interested to see whether it's just gaming themed version of an existing model, or if it's an all new chair as the article suggests.
I churned and burned through "cheap" desks and chairs before buying a 1600 retail Herman chair in my 30s (I did not pay that much) and tossing 2.5k at a desk. The difference is shocking. I wouldn't buy a non Herman chair now though in my early days churning and buring through multiple sub 200 buck chairs I thought a 1600 buck chair was lunatic. Little did I know this is a buy once and forget it item that is in a totally different class.
Get a good chair. You don't have to upgrade or replace it. They last for decades or in some cases hundreds of years. This is a no brainer investment.
