Minisforum MC560-A Mini PC with 2.5K@30Hz Built-in Camera

Everyone is teleconferencing right now, and working from home is becoming common. That's why Minisforum is introducing an unusual computer MC560 today, a mini PC comes with a 2.5K QHD HDR webcam. It also belongs to a new lineup called Mars, which aims to combine trends and innovations between small form factor desktops and other superior technologies.

MC560 is powered by Ryzen 5 5600U, a 6-core/12-thread chip that clocked at 2.30 (guaranteed base clock) to 4.2 GHz (turbocharged) with 16 MB of level 3 cache. It integrates a Radeon RX Vega 7 integrated graphics card with 7 CUs at up to 1800 MHz. Measuring 4.2 x 2.7 x 6.0 inches, this computer is super compact and has a lower TDP at 15 W.
Adding a 2.5K working camera to a Mini PC design makes it a useful meeting assistant. Thanks to HDR optimization, MC560 has better picture quality than a laptop camera. The 93.8° wide angle display and 10° tilt change offers more flexibility in a virtual conference. In addition, the 180° dual beamforming microphone and dual speaker design create directional or noise-canceling vocals, with accurate speech capture and good delivery.

MC560 supports max 64 GB of DDR4-3200 memory, an M.2 slot for PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs storage, Wi-Fi 6e connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.2. A dual 4k @ 60 Hz display is possible via the HDMI and USB-C ports. Details of the ports are listed below:
  • 1x HDMI 2.0 (4K @ 60 Hz)
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (Alt DP, Data Transfer, PD)
  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
  • 1x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1x 3.5 mm combo jack
  • 1x DC 19 V power input
  • 1x Clear CMOS
Minisforum will keep updates on prices and release date once they are confirmed.

Although I'm not so sure about the quality of the speakers, I like that they still put slots for RAM, instead of soldering it to the MB.

They should be good enough for video meetings and casual music listening, but if not, just fire up a set of BT/USB/3.5mm headphones...since it has all these options included :D

And yea, the ram slots were a great decision, since it supports up to 64GB, which would probably be overkill for whatever average, everyday tasks that most people would use this pc for....
