GeForce 8800 Ultra on the 2nd
NDAs about the GeForce 8800 Ultra will expire on the 2nd of May. The final speeds of the card will end up at 612 MHz for the core and 2160 MHz for the memory. The original plan was to have the chip running at 650 MHz, but it looks like NVIDIA didn't push the limits as far as expected.
The shaders of this card will run at 1.5 GHz, which will make them faster than the R600 shader units. The card should end up with a $900 price tag.

In an ideal world, at least.
at least say it so it makes sense..lol..
so, what how did nvidia was? lol is that english?
and fyi.. the 8800 stomps ati lol.. theres no if's and's or butts about it now from what I been hearing.. and it's exactly what I expected.. they make products for people who cant afford the best products.. they are what they are.. you want an aswome car u buy from ferrari. u want something that sounds awsome but isn't quite as great.. u buy from mitsubishi... it is what it is.. lol..
ati is mitsubishi and nvidia is ferrari.. deal with it... lol.. just like AMD..lol..
-High price
-Only a few got it when it was first released
-After release it sold out and remained sold out for months.
-Restock for some stores came when the 7900 was released or near release
Thats why it is such a huge price.
They just want to have the best card out there.
It doesnt mean that they are going to produce a lot of them
suppect a 8900 or 8950 in couple of months...
is there the same difference between 8800Ultra and 8800GTX?
and then the 8800GTX will get old, stomped and so on...
But still 8800 will remain as a bad ass card, and also in the not-so-important hall of old fame for being the 1st DX10 capable gpu...
an 8900GTX maybe be a good choice though :rolleyes:
so, a very unsure, unexpected conclusion-> (:wtf:)
R600=8900
Top 8900:nutkick: 8800 series
Prices= GOOD for consumers :rockout:
good question, i hope someone knows an answer to it..lol..
