Herman Miller Gaming & G2 Esports Launch Limited Edition Embody Gaming Chair

G2 Esports, one of the world's most distinctive and successful e-sports and entertainment brands, and Herman Miller Gaming, a global leader in innovative design known for producing some of the best seating solutions in the world, will take their partnership to the next level, releasing a limited-edition model of Herman Miller Gaming's award-winning Embody Gaming Chair. Only 250 of the limited-edition G2-branded Embody Gaming Chairs will be manufactured, becoming available for purchase globally on the 26th of September.

Herman Miller Gaming's relentless pursuit of melding scientific precision, unparalleled performance, and holistic wellbeing has converged with G2's unyielding commitment to equipping gamers with the ultimate arsenal for triumph. The two companies are challenging gamers and e-sports fans to break away from the rudimentary standards of the typical gaming chair, prioritizing their health and wellbeing: "Break the Meta."
"This chair represents Herman Miller Gaming's first-ever e-sports product collaboration, and G2 is the perfect partner," commented Jon Campbell, Vice President and General Manager of Herman Miller Gaming. "This version of the Embody Gaming Chair is a true celebration of our partnership with G2, and is tailored specifically with the G2 community in mind. While we are particularly eager to see how G2 fans will react to this launch, it's a phenomenal design option for any gaming enthusiast."

With its top-performing Embody Gaming Chair design as the foundation, each limited-edition chair will be adorned with a unique serial number, making it a collector's dream. Nodding to G2's brand identity, the chair features splashes of red, which also indicate the functional elements of the chair - the height-adjustment lever, the seat-length adjustment handles, and the arm pad triggers. The chair features a special RF weld design, reflecting the G2 logo geometry through an arced v-shape.

Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2 Esports, comments: "At G2, we relentlessly push boundaries in e-sports and entertainment, driving towards unparalleled success. Collaborating with esteemed partner Herman Miller, we've redefined the pinnacle of gaming chairs. Our 2023 has been exceptional, both in action and strategy, recognizing the slender margins that define triumph. Optimal gear undeniably empowers our players, and we're thrilled to unveil this exclusive product to the wider esports and gaming world."

I tried this chair @ the Denver HM store and it didn't do it for me. I ended up going with the tried-and-true Aeron "Gaming" chair. I do wonder what "real" improvements were made to it.

I like the color scheme, but the Aeron feels a bit more comfortable, in the two times I got to try one.

I'm curious how the Aeron compares to the X-Chairs (and vice versa), specifically their X2 and X3 mesh back versions.

Stick to the ones that you'll find in an actual office supply store.
Floor models and used/like-new ones from office liquidations are the way when you want to get commercial grade at a good price.

Do you know what is the truth. Almost everbody can sit normally on anything, even on a 20 USD yoga ball. The problem is, humans are lazy and want to buy someting that could solve the problem without any physical effort. But the truth is, we have to put some effort into it because it is all about our body and have to learn how to sit in the right position, need strenghten the muscles and sometimes stretching.

Look bro, I'm no spring chicken @ 46 years of age and I've owned A LOT of computer chairs. Each and every one I have ever owned has caused me pain after numerous hours. There was only one chair that I had the luxury to sit on a daily basis when I was in the Air Force and it never caused any pain - The Aeron. Sadly, I wasn't able to afford the chair back then, but I finally bought the Aeron Gaming (cheaper than the regular version since you can't custom build it like the standard version). I'll tell you this, my ass and legs haven't been happier. None of that you speak of applies to me. I will say this, I'm a tad jealous that you can use a $20 yoga ball and be happy. Enjoy it!

Have you discussed this topic with an orthopedic doctor? My doctor said ppl are lazy enough do not put into any physical effort to develop their body and body focus. They imagine to bip their credit card and problem solved. This is the truth, except if somebody have some serious body deformation that can not be develope. That is it, int the most case. I used my sister's ball so I know. I had to learn how to sit on it properly and was fine. But I use a simple IKEA chair because of the interior design. :) Happy fitness life. :respect:

Not sure what "X-Chairs" are, but here's a long top tier list. :) TL;DR: S-Tier: Herman Miller Embody, Haworth Fern & Steelcase "Leap" (Frankenstein Mod)

Remember: bodies aren't the same, so you may prefer something else. The best option is to try them out for a few days.

What do you mean "finally"? You already forgot the:
Herman Miller - X Logitech G Embody Gaming Chair
Herman Miller - Logitech G Vantum Gaming Chair

Sure, fitness is a important part. But no matter how fit you are, if you sit for hours every day in a chair with bad ergonomics that is putting loads of pressure on your spine, has terrible back & lumbar support or has a bad seating pat that's hindering your blood flow, it's not very enjoyable nor healthy to sit in it for hours. Heck, you could even die from blood clots (worst case, happens X times a day to loads of folks).

Absolutely right with different chairs for different people. I used on of these ranking videos about 4 years ago when I bought the Steelcase Gesture. That chair cost me almost $1900 when (when converted to Euro) when I bought it and it was hands down the worst chair my ass has ever sat in. I suffered for 3 years with hopes that my cheeks would adapt and overcome, but prolonged sitting would cause some of the worst pain I had ever felt. I sold it to my soon to be x-wife and she just loves it.

X-Chairs were recommended as slightly cheaper alternatives to Herman Millers on some office chair review sites, although not by much.

Aside from that, I've had the Embody and Aeron on my wishlist for a long time now. They're just still pretty pricy, though nowadays, paying over time can help bring the sticker shock cost down. This limited edition Embody would better fit my home office color, but I wouldn't want to fork out the extra premium just for the color. They should just make a plain black version, or if they have to keep their little collab colors going, black with blue accents instead of the red. Turns out they already make more colors of the Embody.

I don't know where in the world you reside, but get in contact with a HM dealer and they will keep you informed of various discounts they have through the year. Last year in the states, they had 20% off Black Friday deal. If you're in the Denver area, I have an outstanding contact.

Would love to take you up on that, but the closest is one in Dallas. I'll probably make an effort to visit them the next time I stop by to meet up with some friends living there. Any chance that subscribing to a newletter from them might include discount periods? Or is it one of those semi-private, store-specific things where they'll advertise deals from their location?

You know, that's a good question. I'll ask my POC here in Dallas. Also, she may take you on as her client since they can send anywhere in the States.
