This Week in Gaming (Week 19)

Welcome to the first full week of the month of May. It's another rather slow week of new game releases, or rather, there are no major game releases, as a few games that were supposed to be released this week, got pushed back to later in the year. As such, the biggest release this week is all about cats. As for the rest of this week's releases, we have an RPG where you beat up your enemies with plushies, an abyss full of knights, a pill eating yellow blob, a well full of animals and someone holding a gate closed. Next week will be a lot busier though.

Little Kitty, Big City / This week's major release / Thursday 9 May
A peaceful catnap turns into a whimsical adventure! Will you make your way home or will you explore what the big city has to offer first? I mean, getting home is obviously your main priority. Obviously. Well, it's one of your priorities. Maybe more of a guideline... It's definitely on your To-Do list somewhere! But first? Exploration. Steam Link
Plushie from the Sky / Monday 6 May
A goofy action RPG. Armed with a plushie, smack down nightmarish foes with cuddly chaos. Cheese the boss. Dodge roll your way to victory! Fight your way through wacky and corrupted monsters with your close and far range combat abilities. The bosses will be challenging despite the charming part of the game. Players might fail during the initial attempts, learn their attack patterns, and find ways to overcome them. Steam Link
Abyss / Tuesday 7 May
Abyss Online is an epic MMORPG set in the mystical realm of Aeternea, a land shaped by magic, ancient civilizations, and the enigmatic Voidgate. Embark on a journey through diverse biomes, from the ruins of The Old World to the wilds of Whisperwind, and forge your path as a hero in a world brimming with secrets and dangers. Steam Link
PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs / Wednesday 8 May
Eat your way through multiple interconnected mazes using Power Pellets and a variety of Power Items to chomp the GHOSTS and opponent PAC-MAN players! Be the last PAC standing at the end of each match in this 64-player Battle Royale to be the Chomp Champ. Steam Link
Animal Well / Thursday 9 May
Explore a dense, interconnected labyrinth, and unravel its many secrets. Collect items to manipulate your environment in surprising and meaningful ways. Encounter beautiful and unsettling creatures, as you attempt to survive what lurks in the dark. There is more than what you see. Steam Link
Gatekeeper / Friday 10 May
Gatekeeper is a fast-paced rogue-lite. Go on a quest to find the stolen Heart of the Universe and shoot your way through the hordes of machine enemies guarding the planetary gates. Play in solo or in co-op with friends and become the next Guardian. Steam Link

Swede... no option to be a rat person... I am offended. Not only I am allergic to cats, watching this causes stress to my pet rat...

Other than that... rather slow week and it was hard to pick anything decent, prff... tough one.

Have you considered to perk up this post with added deals, discounts etc? Like last chances while it lasts?

My dog has a habit of chasing cats and given them stress for no reason at all.

Well sounds like a proper dog with a proper firmware. I would like one, but I live in a flat and don't have time to go outside as it should be good for a dogo. While a rat is nocturnal and pretty much has adapted to humans and needs much less care. But she reacts to anything...

Can your dogo play doom? Rats can :D

No, not really, it's a bit too much work for what is meant to be a short list of upcoming games over the next week.

But as I mentioned, next week we have a lot better games to look forward to.

It depends on clicks ain't it? We have a freebies thread. But discount thread? Nope. IMHO a great idea to attract some traffic.

I'm not in charge of the content, I simply provide it. You can always make a suggestion to the management.

Love the visual presentation of Animal Well. A puzzle platformer/metroidvania by a single guy -- me wants to buy! And it may even run on my single core machine :D
The cat game looks like casual fun, might give it a try.
The new Pacman initially made me curious. I mean, collecting dots never gets old. But since it's a battle royale, I'm going to pass on this one.

Honestly looks like some good games here, I added 3 to my wishlist I never heard of, I might even give Abyss the MMO a try. Thanks @TheLostSwede

Little Kitty Big City sounds like a game I'd enjoy like I enjoyed Stray. I'm just not a fan of the single-colour textures and low poly models. It looks as if a single dude put the game together in his garage over the weekend. Shame. :(

Weird to see little kitty big city finally coming out, I've been following that game since what, 2020? Possibly earlier. God, it's been that long?
