This Week in Gaming (Week 12)

Time flies and as we enter the latter half of March, we have a AAA release from a popular franchise that involves murder by another name. This is followed by a rather weird party game, a 33 player co-op game (good luck finding enough friends), some casual ski resort fun, an anime based game that appears to be related to chemicals and finally some alternative 20th century strategy gaming.

Assassin's Creed Shadows / This week's AAA release / Thursday 20 March
Become Naoe, a shinobi Assassin, and Yasuke, a legendary samurai, as you experience their riveting stories and master their complementary playstyles. As Naoe, use stealth to avoid detection and agility to confound your enemies. As Yasuke, strike your foes with lethal precision and power. Steam link
Party Club / Monday 17 March
Seat customers, serve drinks, and manage chaos with up to 4 players! Keep the peace by considering customer types while seating them. Survive disasters, handle quirky customers, and design the perfect venue to keep the party going! Steam link
33 Immortals / Tuesday 18 March / Early Access
33 Immortals is a co-op action-roguelike for 33 players. Play a damned soul, and rebel against God's final judgment. Pick-up and raid, cooperate to survive hordes of monsters, defeat massive bosses, and face the wrath of God in a fight for your eternal life.
Octohill Ski Tycoon / Wednesday 19 March
Octohill is a casual game about building and managing your own ski resort. Mark ski trails, connect them with lifts and watch your snowmobiles rushing to rescue those daring skiers who went a little too far. Steam link
Bleach Rebirth of Souls / Thursday 20 March
Awaken the blade within you and reverse your fate in Bleach Rebirth of Souls! Engage in thrilling battles with powerful sword abilities and characters from this legendary anime franchise. Steam link
Kaiserpunk / Friday 21 March
Build a city to rule the world in Kaiserpunk, a grand city builder blending production-focused city building with the world conquest of strategy games in an alternate 20th century world. Manage your city, grow industries, build a military, and defeat rivals to become the greatest empire. Steam link
Also launching this week: MLB The Show 25 and Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land

I voted for Kaiserpunk, it seems like the type of building game that would keep me hooked while also helping me unwind.

You can stick with Assassin's Creed and its controversies, but the last title in the franchise I truly enjoyed was Black Flag.

Voted "games are for kids" because I like to watch the world burn :D

It would be cool if people just hated the game because it's basically the same game as last year's, or the previous one, or the previous one... instead of other reasons

there are no good or bad reasons, just reasons. That's all in our head and they are subjective

Note that we only cover PC games. If they happen to be available on other platforms, great, but we'd never cover games that aren't launching on PC.

Funny part is that the game would have been loved if only they did what people have been asking for 18 years... Ass Creed gameplay is perfect for Ninja, Shinobi and Samurai, proper Samurai...
it would have been the spiritual sucessor to Tenchu series....

The other reasons may not be important to you, but they are important to a lot of other people, and their view is no less valid then your own.

And there are TONS of people that rip on AC being copy paste BS. Also criticism isnt hate.

Only game out of this list that I own is AC shadows and it was Free because I do builds for non gamers who let me keep all the free keys.... My wife liked the last 3 so she will probably like this one

Bleach is probably the most interesting game on the list for me but it looks like a PS3 game...

It won't be a disaster. The game is Fine™ by all accounts and other than being non-innovative Ubislop, it will get exactly the response it deserves. Some will enjoy it, some won't.

And the gaming bitterati will rake in as much ragebait hay as it can.

Oh, I am looking forward to the RTX Half-Life 2 Demo's way way more.

Ah and erm, where is the "PC gaming is no longer affordable" voting option.

that would be news, because all their latest games are disasters, and they are almost bankrupt and trying to sell the company.

Sure, but plenty of companies survive just fine by being mediocre.

As for selling the company, I think for the Guillemot family its more a matter of pride and retaining control rather than getting the best deal and signing the papers. Money isn't typically the issue at these levels.

It's a shame Prince of Persia Lost Crown got caught in the crossfire. Its fantastic. Ubisoft has always had some of the best animations in the industry.

but not losing money. their stock price is crashing hard and their financials aren't great. That's the problem. Mediocre will only get worst.
