Sky Cipher introduces a new packaging design for Xbox controllers that embodies our commitment to reducing product carbon footprint. Single-use plastics have been removed from the packaging and the traditional paper manual has been replaced with a QR code for a digital quick start guide. The Xbox Wireless Controller - Sky Cipher Special Edition is available for pre-order today in select Xbox markets worldwide for $69.99 USD ERP. Visit Xbox.com or your local retailer, including Microsoft Store, for more information.

They have incredible number of different colors, and you can even design your own. But something they just can't realize is that even cheaper controllers offer superior Hall effect sticks. You don't get that even on catastrophically overpriced XBOX "elite" controllers.

I made a clear purple Xbox controller a couple years ago. Doesn't get as much use as the wood grain one. It's cheaper still to customize it yourself.

That's the downside of large-scale manufacturers, they probably stocked millions of parts which are based on available technology during the console launch. When new tech emerges they can't just switch parts willy-nilly, since the stock will go to waste. That's why you won't see hall effect joystick from MS, Sony, and Nintendo any time soon. Smaller companies have no problem since they produce at a much smaller scale.

Hall effect sticks were introduced by SEGA on Dreamcast controllers. So it is not new tech. The reason why sony, microsoft and nintendo don't use them is because they are cheap POS companies. And they want you to buy new gamepads once their crap develops stick drift, which hall sticks don't do. Better to buy Gamesir G7 SE than official XBOX gamepads.
