AMD Processor Pricing Effective July 9, 2007

Effective Monday July 9, 2007, AMD will slash prices of its Athlon 64 X2 dual core processors. The top-of-the-line Athlon 64 X2 6000+ now costs $178 in 1000-unit tray quantities. See the updated AMD Processor Pricing page here.

e6600 goign for only 200 - 220 bucks which is not bad for what it can do.

Yeah, but as a con, if you're an avid overclocker, the board is gonna cost you, in most cases.

agreed , thats another 200+ bucks added to above if u want a (Asus) nice board. ;)

Gigabyte got nice p965 and p975 for under 150 bucks

$178 for 1000 units? And thats a price cut??

I can get a 6000+ for $210 AUD (~$179 USD) and thats before all these price cuts :p. Unless there is something im missing (which is probably the case :D).

Lol, not really. You can pick up a 965-DS3 for $136 AUD, or a 965-DS3P (crossfire support) for $144 :). (Should be cheaper in the US)

Well it's a smart move. They're cut before Intel has thiers' on 22july which makes people probably buy AMD first.

Jeez... and AMD expects to break even, let alone profit, with prices this low? I'm loving the constant price cuts though... I wonder if intel has an answer to this :P

Yep, I got boned. Paid $195 on Saturday for my 6000+ from Newegg, down to $170 today on the egg.
