ASUS Triton Series CPU Cooler

To cater to enthusiasts who enjoy DIY and assembling their own PCs, ASUS has announced the Triton Series of CPU Coolers - the Triton 70 and Triton 75. These two models incorporate innovative features that include high-density fins, dynamic fan speed control (Triton 70 only) and pure copper heat pipes that delivers efficient heat dissipation for the latest quad-core processors. With their lightweight and compact cooler sizes, the Triton series is compatible with a wide range of motherboards and chassis.

AMD and Intel Multiple CPU Support
The Triton series of CPU coolers support Intel Core 2 Quad / Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Pentium processor family, Intel Pentium 4 HT/Celeron D CPUs, as well as AMD 's Socket AM2/940/939, AthlonTM 64-FX, AthlonTM and SempronTM processors. The Triton 70 also incorporates a PWM function fan that can automatically modulate fan speeds according to the CPU temperature.

Fun with DIY
DIY computing has always had a following in the market, and the Triton CPU coolers are set to aid users who wish to do so. The Triton 70 provides the space for users to shift 8 and 9cm fans, and is also expandable for a second optional fan. I just bought the Triton 70 for my Athlon X2 4200+ (939). This heatsink works really well for the price($39 US), but you have to be careful since the fan is exposed. Tie all your cables together so they will never come close to the fan.

I'm using Asus A8N-SLI Premium, and overclocked my 4200+ from 2.2 to 3.0GHz (1.375v). Using Arctic Silver 5.

28c-32c idle
54c max (both cores stressed with Prime95 100% for 24hours)

I used Core Temp and Speedfan to get temp readings. Any temp up to 60c is fine with me, since processor is rated up to 71c max. I am thinking on adding a second fan, just to have as a back up! If one goes out, processor will still be cooled. I like this heatsink!
