You bring up a good question though, that could be a little odd... At least until you get used to it...

So you determine which key you're about to press by the feel of it? How is that possible, they all feel very similar? I type by my memory. I know where all the keys are; therefore, I know exactly what key I'm about to press at any given time. I don't even think about it, I just know. For anyone who didn't know the keyboard by memory, I would think they would look for the key visually instead of feeling for it.

I think this keyboard is an awesome idea, I'm just concerned about its response.

Each time you type at the right location, it burns a small hole in your fingernail. You get used to it. :laugh:

Yes!!! I haven't seen news about this thing in a while. It might not be all that practical, but it's freakin cool....

@ PVTcaboose, I suppose you could affix some sort of brail-esque sticker to the flat surface so you could get your home key positions.

Ya I wonder if I could modify the laser / led (is it a laser?) to be very powerful so it could burn into the surface and then turn down the power :)

that thing looks awesome, i would love to try it out. I like my mx5000 keyboard but no keys keyboard.........thats awesome

the point is that this is a portable device. you can attach it to your blackberry or your laptop and have a nice size keyboard.

I agree with Caboose, I now where every key is perfectly and can type at incredible speeds, but I feel the placement, but once I get the placement I'm all set. So I guess a simple glance down to get the placement I would be all set, incredible idea though, but I wanna know the response times and how it would feel as your not pushing down a key anymore.

Yup, good question... if the sensitivity is too high, if you snag a "key" next to the one you're hitting it would show up, but if the sensitivity is too low, that could cause problems too. With buttons there is more room for placement correction, even if you bump the key next to the one you're hitting.... but I wonder with this.... :wtf:

No resistance would also feel weird and might hurt if you slam keys during gaming for hours like I do on a key board :D :eek:

This is the problem with all you touch typers. :roll:

I have been "finger pecking since before I was 8, so I now finger peck like a humming bird, faster than most touch typers...

I've used an iphone and I type VERY fast, even considering it was the first 2-3 minutes I had ever used the phone...

Learn placement over touch, and you can use any keyboard such as this, and it will be excellent.

I personally enjoy "feedbackless" keyboards.

When done right (i.e. not a shitty generic implementation like cheap asses like to get) its very very nice. :D

I think its an interesting concept with a weird appeal to it. I have to have a springy feel of the keys Im typing otherwise its dead to me.

Oh and another good thing to bring up, (I think someone said) with our keyboards if ones of our fingers hit another key next to the one we go to hit, or brushes on it, it wont type out that letter, with this one, since nothing is being pushed down it would type out both letters. I got big hands and fingers and this could be a problem.

Well as I type right now, I can do it without looking at my keyboard which I guess is good. I don't peck at the keys but use the normal format that I learned.

My bigger question is:

Does the keyboard support DVORAK?

That's a good point! This would be an eating friendly keyboard and it wouldn't matter if you were having greasy potato chips, or whatever....
