ASUS Introduces Silent Knight II CPU Cooler for Quad-Core Processors

Catering to users who require a efficient way to keep CPU temperatures cool, ASUS today announced the Silent Knight II CPU cooler that utilizes 100% copper for its fins, base and heat pipes; and dynamic fan speed control to deliver efficient heat dissipation for the latest quad-core processors. The Silent Knight II offers quiet performance and a unique design that includes a blue LED for a peaceful computing environment as well as a stylish system interior.

Fast Heat Dissipation with All-Copper Cooler with 6 Heat Pipes
The Silent Knight II is an all-copper CPU cooling solution that utilizes the natural heat conducting properties of copper. With its large heat exchange area, lightweight design to relieve stress on the motherboard, and six curved heat pipes to efficiently transfer heat to the fins, processor temperature is always maintained at levels most suitable for high-performance and reliable computing. Additionally, the Silent Knight II also incorporates a PWM function fan that automatically modulates fan speeds according to the CPU temperature and delivers a quiet cooling at a mere 25dBA.

AMD and Intel Quad-core CPU Support
The Silent Knight II supports the Intel's Core 2 Extreme series, Pentium D Dual-Core CPU, Pentium 4 LGA775 processors; as well as the AMD's Socket AM2/940/939/754, AthlonTM 64-FX, Athlon and Sempron processors - making it ready for the latest and most powerful computing platforms in the market today.

Voltage Regulation Module Protection
The voltage regulation shield inside the cooler directs airflow created by the 9cm LED fan to surrounding VRM (voltage regulation modules) that are critical to processor operations and overall system reliability. This unique design effectively reduces VRM temperature by 10-15°C - allowing for smooth and stable operations.

No it's not a race. Front page is designed to post news and forums are designed to discuss topics, not the opposite...but some people doesn't seem to understand that. ;)

Forums are ment for EVERYTHING ranging from people posting news they find around the net which aint posted already ,discussing problems they have and even start talking about useless things just for time to pass by. When people create forums with rules on what to post that will be the beginning of the end for the Forum concept.

Ps : I could also start whining cause things i post first get posted soon after on the frontpage but i dont so why others complain about finding things they wouldnt find if others like myself hadnt post about them in the forums is something i truly cant understand.

If this isn't going to beat the Ultra 120 eXtreme, why bother?

Thermalright seems to be the only company who is on the right track.

The first Silent Knight was expensive and only performed slightly better than a CNPS9500. Wonder how this one will be.

I think that if they would have made it a bigger and put in a 120mm fan, it might have some decent potential. But that would also have made it noisier.

For one, its quite a bit lighter.
120 = 790g w/o fan
This = 610 grams with fan

9500 rip off as already said a few times. No innovation nowadays anymore?? :) But im looking for a new cooler that would cool better than my current 9700NT and isnt as big as 120Ultra extreme as it is too tall for my Enermax Über Chakra chassi?!? I would want a 120 Ultra Extreme Lite that would be 1-2cm shorter.

I think they mean that as in most people's eyes aren't bothered by blue as much as the other colors.
