Working AMD RV670, Phenom System Pictured

Sapphire has not only showcased its Radeon HD 2600 X2 DUAL at this year's World Cyber Games (WCG) Grand Final in Seattle but it has also shown off some soon to be released products including a AMD Phenom X4 Engineering Sample CPU, Sapphire RD790 (790 FX) motherboard and Crossfire setup consisting of two RV670 cards. AMD is calling its CPU+GPU+Chipset package "Spider".

eidairaman1i guess the dieshrink didnt help any cause both are using Dual Slot cooling.
I'd rather have dual slot cooling that exhausts the heat out of the case than one that recirculates it. If I purchased this card with a noisy, chincy single slot cooler, I'd replace it before installing it. And I'm sure there will be the el-cheapo version that may feature the cooler that you want, I just hope it won't be plagued with issues.

Plus this is a showing, maybe that's the Gladiator version, maybe the Revival is cool enough for a single slot cooler. Time will tell...

djisasI run it silently and i really mean silently on idle at 25% under 68ºc over that it kicks at 31% to quickly cool it down, at full load its quite audible, but u wont notice if u focus on the game...
great i suppose not going to notice it while gaming.

reading lot about changing stock coolers here, so that could be an option in future if R670 starts to annoy. time will tell.

Guys, I'll delete both Weer's and mandelore's posts...please next time if you don't have something to say, just don't (accentuate on Weer).
Let's pretend as if nothing has happened, thank you.

hmmm... 640 unified shaders....

wonder how it would overclock tho since a dual-core gpu would output some heat... tho tbh, if a single is chucking out less than the current R600's, it may be ok

incorrect. its avaliable as single slot and dual slot, some people prefer less space consumption, some people prefer better cooling.

And even if the cooling isn't any better, those coolers send the hot air outside of the case instead of circulating the hot air inside.

That is the one huge drawback of my VF-900 in that it takes up two slots, but there is no way to have it exhaust the air (unless I had a pci exhaust fan, but that would be 3 slots, and I have an matx motherboard with an Audigy 2 ZS in the only remaining pci slot.

All I can say is I hope the card kicks arse in real-world gaming.
I really don't care about the benchmark as games can still play poorly even with a high score.
I have high hopes for this card and the Phenom.
