Acer Files Patent Infringement Suit Against Hewlett-Packard

In a battle between two of the largest PC manufacturers in the world, Acer is again suing Hewlett-Packard over alleged patent violations. The suit, filed on October 30, 2007 in a District Court in Wisconsin and the United States International Trade Commission, accuses HP of violating seven patents related to PCs, servers and peripheral devices.
With or without a legal proceeding, Acer persists to take all necessary steps to protect and enforce its patented technologies.
, the company said. Further details regarding the latest suit has not been made public by Acer.

Is he exporting cheap, Korean hookers? We seem to be in short supply here. All we have are these semi-classy Vietnamese sluts. I don't have that kind time.

Acer doesnt have any fight here I dont think. I havent seen one ACER server type thing ever in my life. Just think that since they bought Gateway, they can become the No1 pc maker in the world and this is part of their plan. the Morons.

I think what ACER believes is that since they own Gateway, then whatever Gateway has made makes it theirs. Which is right, don't get me wrong... But, any patents that where built when Gateway was Gateway is, in which i believe, Gateways.... This is just their way to try and make people see them.... Like a little kid who knows wrong, but does it for everyone to look at him... Its stupid and, i hope they get laughed out of court because of it.

Is this some sort of pathetic revenge for the countless lawsuits between Gateway and HP from way back? Now that Acer have taken over Gateway do they feel some kind of moral duty to achieve where Gateway ultimately failed?

They probably feel that because Gateway will NEVER win something that HP has all rights to and forever will, that this is a way to get their NAME out. I'm with you all the way on the whole "moral duty". I just think that this is their way to get their name out.

And, this is the reason why I don't buy computers that prebuilt. I'll buy a prebuilt laptop all day long because of the fact its harder to build a laptop than a desktop. But, these companies think that they own everything because of how their marketing department is showing off their product, or that their shares make it to where they can buy out anyone. Some people have the reasons and the rights to sue (I believe that scandisk has all rights) because they are right, where others just sue because its the "cheaper" way to put their name out.

you find some msi and asus barebone laptops, and then pop in a cpu, ram, hdd and a mini pci wireless card. i think some laptops have socketed mobility ati chips, though idk where you can find ati mobility radeon chips to replace the one in your lappy.

Is your friends dad Tom Acer?

I think before anyone starts talking bad about Acer or HP, we need to know what the supposed patent infringements are.

If you go to the website in the source part of malware's story, it shows what the patent infringements are.. what the whole is about..
